This is the best gas range I ever used or owned! November 27, 2009

I have researched different reviews and **************** on this oven.  I live in a 1950 vintage California Bungalow with a small kitchen and needed two ovens without taking extra space.  Well, let me tell you, I LOVE this range.  Not only do I have the Turkey baking away in the huge oven space but the pies are baking away in the lower oven.  I made some homemade cookies and the convection oven baked them to perfection.  I was able to easily fit three baking sheets and cooked 3 dozens at once and that is not including the bottom oven.  Everyone who comes over is just amazed with how nice this oven looks in the kitchen.  When they installed it and showed me the power of the oven, I had no idea that with a couple of minutes the oven reached 325 degrees...when I say a couple of minutes ..I mean within a couple of minutes.  No need to preheat the oven as you start to prep the food, you need to preheat only a couple of minutes before.  The large window and bright light shows how well things are going along in the oven. The first night of getting the oven, I used the probe cooking and the oven cooked the prime rib and shut off when it reached the desired temperature of 140 that I set.  The amazing thing too is you don't feel that over burning of heat being emitted from the oven.  I love this oven and strongly recommend it for anyone who likes to make a big meal...roast in oven and casserole in the lower oven.  The power burner boils the water for the potatoes very fast.  I LOVE cooking using this powerhouse and the looks of all stainless, it just looks hot!

Poor craftsmanship, useless instruction manual. November 06, 2009

Great looks but poorly made. Door is warped enough to not close properly, sticks out by at least a quarter of an inch. If you are installing yourself as we did and changing from natural gas to propane prepare for a long and frustrating install. Two of theorifices did not match the instructions according to the stamped numbers. Changing the broiler and oven orifices is totaling confusing, instructions say to turn the orifice hood clockwise but the picture shows counter clockwise. A screw holding the front panel on was about half way in with the head stripped because it was cross threaded but the assembler just left it that way. This stove is the higher end GE I would hate to see the lower end ones. It isdefinitely going back in exchange for a Kenmore. Had a Kenmore that lasted more than 15 years should have stayed with them. GE is made in Mexico, enough said.

    Pros:
Easy clean-up,Appearance,Cooking flexiblity,Power burner,Quick heating to desired temp
    Cons:
I should have bought this sooner!

We purchased this double oven in November 2009. We love it! The oven is gorgeous, cooks well, and is easy to clean. We love the griddle feature for making pancakes and grilled cheese sandwiches. The power burner works great. The double oven is slow to warm up, but really helps when preparing for a holiday meal. I am 100% satistfied with this product.
