GearWrench 18 pc. socket set is nice
The GearWrench 18 pc metric socket set is a nice little set. Very few small sets seem to come with one and it's a handy thing to have. On my set, I haven't noticed any chrome chipping or flaking and everything seems to be holding up very well. The ratchet is a fine tooth ratchet (I think it has 72 teeth), is incredibly smooth and seems very solid. Upon taking it apart, I noticed that it's a single pawl ratchet and the pawl isn't quite as beefy the craftsman thin-profile wrenches. That being said, it should be more than adequate for most work - just don't use it as a breaker bar. The sockets are fine. All the chrome work is smooth and none of mine had noticeable manufacturing flaws. Overall, they look like they'll get the job done. The only reason I didn't give this a higher rating is the price. It's a little pricey for what you get but if you can pick it up on sale, go for it.
