    excellent value September 15, 2008

    We bought the 7 foot table last Christmas on sale for $149. It represents superb value. As others note, this is no Brunswick table but for the price it can't be beat. The key to making the table perform well is using larger wood screws (not the ones that come with the unit) to bolt the base together. We did this and the table went from being way to flimsy to being very stiff and strong. Game play imprioved enormously. Using some furniure polish on the surface on occassion helps, too.

    Heavy Penalty January 28, 2008

    My kids bought this table with their pooled Christmas money...what a gift!. Assembly was easy. Fit and finish were below average. The electronic scoring never worked. Called the company and they sent replacement parts...after 2 weeks. One part looked like it had been used before. This did not fix the problem. Also, the paddles, pucks and table walls were nicked significantly after about 45 minutes of play. I had to disassemble and take it back to the store. This product is quite heavy to have to return. Sears provided a refund without issue.

    We got this Table 2 christmas's ago and if was  lots a fun to play.  Its still holden up and works w/ a little attention to the on/ off controls.  yes I see for some people that never worked.  For what it cost we got a lot of use out of it.   yes it is taking up space and wish it was not work everytime we wanted to play it.   But we do like it.

    Dear fellow air hockey fans,

    About a year ago I bought a very similar Harvard Brand Air Hockey table at my local Sears.  It seemed like a great value, and I have to admit for the money (at discounted price I received then on sale) I am still impressed with the structure and weight/feel of the table for a home air-hockey game.  The playing surface just needs an occasional clean down and use of some light polish to keep performance good, but it all seems to be of decent quality in that respect.

    Assembly itself was pretty smooth and parts were all of decent quality it seemed until it came to using this table.  That is when we saw that only one end of the table would score, and the other end would almost NEVER score right.  After a year of trying to get this resolved it is clear our table has a design flaw in how it is cut or built that causes this and cannot be repaired from our experience.  I am sad to say we feel duped by a poorly designed and poorly tested product.  While we were reluctant to disassemble our new table in the beginning being so large and heavy and with all the packaging then removed, it also seemed that calling the vendor (Harvard EA) to give them a chance to correct the issue by working with them was the right way to go anyway. so we attempted that.

    Well after receiving and installing all new parts for the one end of the table including the sensors, bucket the pucks fall into, and switching parts with the other end to see what that would do, this one end of the table STILL DOES NOT SCORE right.  All in all after spending countless hours trying to ensure parts are in alignment right or trying to find the reason it does not work only on the one end has been a huge waste of time, a HUGE disappointment, and aggravating with no real results.  

    To sum it up the table is nice in many ways but be ready to score your games on paper.

    The Harvard 7'air hockey table comes with 4 strikers. The first time my young grandkids used the game, the strikers just shattered and now we can't find any replacements. All 4 of them are not even useable so the table is just taking up space
