    Kenmore 1/2 hp Food Waste Disposer January 21, 2011

    The disposer works like a charm, fairly easy to install. Took about an hour and it works quietly. I would recommend this item to anyone, it does help to be handy and read the directions. The installation fits right in, worth the time and effort. Looks very expensive and it compliments any sink, comes with all the hardware and tool for easy installation.

    PIECE OF JUNK!!! June 21, 2010

    Just over one year, just past the one year warranty, the main plastic housing cracked in two different places. One on the backside, and the other in the front. Two very long cracks. It does not make sense to make the main house out of plastic! It has to be metal to withstand the daily use! Because of the two cracks, now I have water all over the place under my sink along with water damage. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! DO NOT BUY A GARBAGE DISPOSAL THAT HAS A PLASTIC HOUSING! IT WILL CRACK! IT HAS TO BE METAL!

    I'm sorry to have to say goodbye to my Kenmore 1/2 HP disposal--it's finally rusted out around the power cord after 10 years. Definitely a good product. I only wish I could have picked up one immediately at my local store instead of waiting for shipping.

    Priced nicely, we actually purchased on sale but even at regular price it is very nice. Easy to install, use and works very well. Like with all disposals it does get the occassional smell but that's fixable. would highly recommend.

    I bought one of these in my old house, where I rented (where the existing one didn't work) and now my new place.

    It does the job and it's relatively quiet -- what more is a garbage disposal unit supposed to do?

    It's been around for a few years, but why mess with something that works so well?!?!

    Plastic housing, will crack!

    The outside is plastic and cracked in two places, leading to a leak under my sink that was very hard to diagnose.  Now I have to get some new wood under there as well as a new disposer.
