    Extra power worth the extra dollars August 17, 2010

    I replaced my 3/4 hp disposer with this 1 hp model, and the extra power really makes a big difference.  This disposer actually runs more quietly than the old one, and very quickly and efficiently disintegrates whatever we put in it.   

    It was very easy to swap out my old Kenmore disposal for the new one.  It took about 10 minutes total, and I am not a very handy person.

    We will need to see if it lasts as long as the old one (9 years).

    Warranty is Virtually Useless January 03, 2010

    Bought this disposal March 2008.  It has already quit working.  Called Sears service since it has a 9 year warranty and find out the warranty is only good on the motor.  Sears doesn't tell you that it will cost you $70 just to have the technician come out to look at it.  Then you will also have to pay for any parts and the labor.  Technician says average cost to fix a disposal is $152 and that's if it is the motor, therefore not paying for the part.  Very disappointed.  Ending up having to buy another disposal after only a year and a half.  This was a bad purchase in my opinion and the warranty is virtually useless.

    I just had this unit installed as a part of my kitchen renovation. It seems to run very quietly and with no vibration. I was surprised to notice that the fancy outer stainless steel finish is nothing more than some very cheap stickers that are easily peeled off the plastic casing. For the price of this unit, I'm disappinted to see such cheap construction. I would not have purchased this unit, had I known it wasn't truly constructed of stainless or aluminum. I hope the unit will last 20 years, like my non-Kenmore branded unit, which had a metal outer housing!

    This is the Cadillac of food waste disposal units - way more powerful than the others I have had. It has never jammed in the six months I have had it. It handles everything I put in it speedily and efficiently, way faster than the ones I had before. I highly recommend this unit, and wish I had gotten it way before now. It has a nine year warranty, which really impressed me. Installation was a snap, too. All in all, this is a real winner!

    This food processor is one of the best in the store, fairly quiet (though not as much as the more expensive ones) it does its job well and is fairly easy to set up and use.
