    kenmore microhood is great so far July 22, 2011

    I like that the microhood bells are quieter than other microhoods and so far so good .Except the stainless steel was marked by the plastic covering they had on it .I cannot even get it out with there cleaner and is highly visible .Even took a pic and it shows on pics too .I need to resolve this and I will be happy .I tried buffing it with the elco cleaner it is still there .I love that is quiet and does not sound like a 747 taking off.The chimes on it are not that annoying load things like on other microhoods .Sounds great when the chimes go off .Heats really great also and the larger size and bigger turntable are great and the shelf is great a little low but still great when you are heating a lot of stuff up .It seems to heat evenly and wow does it have an appealing look to it  minuse of course the streaks from the plastic covering I still can not get off .I'm changing out all my 7 year old GE junk for Kenmore .I bought a kenmore dishwasher last year .Sears in Reidsville NC love the store .The price was great too .

    The Kenmore Elite Microwave is horrible. November 14, 2011

    I had this microwave installed June 29th and after 30 days, sparks were coming out through inside top piece. This happened once in a while. At first I thought I was seeing things. I waited to see if it happened again and it was on and off. In September, repairman came and told me that there was nothing wrong. My husband explained that it was coming from middle part, which has a covering. The repairman removed it and noticed that that part was burnt. He said that they would have to replace the steering blade because the metal was touching metal because it was crooked. He said that he would order steering blade, use a scouring pad and remove burnt part and then use touch up paint to make it look like new. I wasn't going for that since it was less than 90 days old. I rejected the repair and requested a replacement. On September I had my replacement installed and in November, the sensor cook would not heat up my milk for my coffee. The repairman came again and told me that sensor cook senses steam not heat. I was able to keep my whole hand in the mug of water and he told me that that was normal. I told me that I wasn't happy with his response and called Sears. By the way: Fan is very loud and is not good. Sears customer solutions told me that I can get another replacement by choosing same model or picking a new model. The customer solutions personnel are very helpful and friendly.

    Microwave installed easily and operates fine. Have used it for warming/cooking several items (no popcorn as of yet) and does the job. Besides looking good and containing all the features we were looking for I have few complaints. The rack seems a little low and hit it occassionaly on removing/placing items in oven. Fan seems to pull best on level 3 and 4 from the stove front burners. Cooking on the stove rear burners all fan levels work okay. Fan is a little noisey but not near as much as the item it replaced. Good value

    We bought this microwave to match our other Kenmore appliances. We could not find any microwaves less than 16" high so we decided to match instead. We liked the light being on the front, but did not know until it was installed that there is only one small light bulb and although mounted on the front, it is directed to light up the back of the range below it. why can't the microwave have the same great lighting that the Kenmore hoods offer?!?!? also the large 16-1/2" height make this unit hangs well below the bottom of the cabinets compared to the one it replace. Despite the cramping it gives to the cooking surface, the inside consequentially is massive. You could easily microwave a 15 lb turkey in this thing! The main selling point of this unit was the quick select preset cooking buttons. It is very similar to the Kitchen Aid Elite we had in the previous house. The 4 speed fan was a big selling point also, however we had no idea that it was so loud and that only 2 speeds are available while cooking. We really wanted the whole kitchen to match, so we settled on the only thing Kenmore offered that was close. It was kind of pricey too for what it is at well over $300...and that's not including installation.

    My wife and I have replaced all of our appliances with stainless, Kenmore appliances. We absolutely love our over the range microwave from sears. When the fan is running, you truly cannot hear it. Also, it cooks food so evenly everytime we use it. I would definetely recommend this product to my best of friends.
