Kenmore  12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker, Red

I bought this coffee maker about two years ago when I was wanted to have all my small appliances red in color. Me and a friend went to Sears and bought a blender, can opener, a four slot toaster and a coffee maker. While the other items are used occasionally, the coffee maker was the workhorse of the purchases. It has been used often enough for me to make a fair evaluation of the product. The coffee maker is easy to program and works well. It has the ability to make 1-4 cups of good strong coffee. However, the coffee is never hot enough for me. I have on more than one occasion put my cup of coffee into the microwave to get it hot. Over time, the lettering on the buttons have worn off. Granted I know which buttons are for which purpose but those unfamiliar with the device, it's hard to decipher which button is for what. It's not a bad unit. It serves it's purpose. But next time, I'll spend a little more for a better quality item.

My husband and I love the programmable design and the color is very lovely. I would've rate it 4 stars except for the fact that putting water in this coffee maker is a huge pain in the buns due to the narrow opening on top where you put the water. Fixed it by using my own measuring cup to prevent spilling water and possibly destroying this product.

I usually buy more bargain priced coffee makers. I am glad I decided to spend a little more. This coffee maker is definately worth it. A lot of extra features, & most importantly it makes great tasting coffee.

I bought this coffee maker in Sept. and after only 3 1/2 months it stopped working. One day it worked, the next day it didn't.

Went through 2 of these in 6 months time. The first one was barely a month old when I heard a loud "pop" from the next room, and when I went to the kitchen for a coffee refill, I noticed the outer rim of the warming plate had cracked and split. Loved the coffee maker except for this issue, so returned it to Sears and brought home another just like it. This one had the issue reported in other reviews about the lid falling shut, and we had to clip a close pin on the back corner while filling, to keep it open... Then, after just a little over 4 months use, it just stopped working. The button would light up when turned on, but it would not brew. The local Sears was very nice about refunding my money though, once I made it clear I did not want another one :)

Received this as a Christmas present and was very pleased. Everything works as advertised and quality is above par for units in its price range. Only negative is the clock gains about 15 minutes per 24 hour period. Have to reset it daily. If you forget to reset it, coffee makes a pot wayyyyy too early!!

We purchased the 12-cup programmable coffee maker in red, the first time. We returned it because the "filter" light would NOT go off. The second purchase, the same thing happens. No matter what we do, it will not shut off. Now, I'm looking for a replacement carafe as this latest one shattered. I would NOT recommend this, albeit pretty in red, coffeemaker again. I just need the carafe. When I type in the very specific description in the search engine, I get every brand but Kenmore. It's very difficult to order something for in-store pickup that you cannot find.

My husband and I bought this on Black Friday for 19.99 and I'm real pleased with this purchase. It is very easy to make coffee and the coffee tastes great! At first we didn't know the lid snapped in place and thought it was defective. But after finding this out and trying it I'm so happy we kept it! The only thing I'm sorry about is I wish we had bought more to give as gifts!

I ordered this because we needed a new coffee maker, but I wanted it to match the kitchen. Since re-doing the kitchen, the accents are red & this fits in perfectly! It's a great coffee maker at a price that you can't beat with a stick!
