Kenmore  14.8 cu. ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator - White

If you haven?t bought a refrigerator yet but have one in mind make sure you have the salesman plug it in and then turn the thermostat to it?s coldest setting. Then listen for how much noise the compressor makes. You?d be surprised at how loud some units are - particularly Kenmore refrigerators which are very noisy. I decided to buy a comparable Maytag instead. Listening is believing.

We have purchased appliances from Sears for more than 35 years now. Always great value and great service. We were looking for a second frig for the basement rec-room and did some shopping at several stores and on-line. This frig was a great value. I picked it up, it was packaged very well for shipping. I switched the doors to open from the right, easy to do. Runs very quite and maintains temperature.

This refrigerator is OK for an infrequently used second fridge, but I would never have it as a kitchen fridge. Shelves, door racks, vegetable bins, etc. are pretty flimsy - actually, they're real flimsy. Glass shelves are thinner than on better, more expensive refrigerators. It's also noisier than conventional size kitchen refrigerators. The noise comes primarily from the fan that circulates air in the food and freezer compartments. Again, the flimsy materials tend to vibrate causing the noise. Overall, if you can get it on sale for $350 or so, it'll work as a second fridge. If you're looking for a smaller fridge for an apartment or other spot where it will be used on a daily basis, forget it - it simply won't hold up under everyday use.

I have a small kitchen, so I'm limited on how big of a refrigerator that will fit in the space. This is a basic refrigerator - no ice maker, no French doors, or bottom freezer. The freezer has a shelf in it, which helps keeps it organized. Because this refrigerator was so reasonably priced (compared to fancier models), I was able to buy a new electric range and hood.

Sounds like an airplane getting ready for take off! Fluctuates between minus 5 and 30 degrees in the freezer, which is quite a swing. Vegetable and Fruit drawers are extremely small, can't even fit a stalk of celery in it. If you put a head of lettuce in, you can't get much else in. Very disappointed.

We purchased this refrigerator as an overflow, just to put in our utility room for extra cooling space for garden veggies and cold drinks. It serves the purpose, but after purchasing it and getting it home and actually using it, it is VERY, VERY, loud! I dont know if there is a problem with it or if that's just the way it runs. our utility room is off of our den, and even with the door shut, you can here it running!  We have to turn the T.V. up when we are trying to watch it.  Also we were not aware of it not being an energy star product when we purchased it.  Disappointed.  :(

Within the first month or so of purchase, it started to emit a strange odor.  Smelled like a chemical odor.  It affected the taste of my food then it stop refrigerating all together.  Needless to say, lots of spoiled milk later, I got a replacement through Sears.  Not the same brand of course.

We needed a new "overflow" fridge for the basement but didn't want to spend an arm and a leg. Something significantly larger than the dorm size fridge we were replacing, and with a real freezer, preferably frost-free. Nothing fancy like a through-the-door ice maker or digital controls. This 14.8 cu. ft. unit does the job perfectly. Lots of room, low operating cost, and modern touches like glass shelves. Clean, neat and new. Plus we saved 30% by buying during the 4th of July sales. What's not to like?

WOULD HAVE LIKED REFRIGRATOR BETTER IF IT HAD MORE HEIGHT VERSUS DEEP TO WALL. WE NEED IT FOR A SMALL COTTAGE AND HAVE TOO BEND OVER TO GET ITEM OUT OF IT. ALSO THE HANDLES DO NOT LINE UP PROPERLY AND DELIVER MAN HAD LEFT BEFORE IT WAS NOTICED. MAKE FOR A NOT A NICE LOOK TO A NEW APPLICANCE.
