    No Problems Ever! January 15, 2009

    Had the previous model 580.72187 installed five years ago and it was completely trouble free. Never a service call. We live at the ocean and the salt air is not kind to A/C units (usual lifespan two years, we got five years). It is now time for a new unit, as the heater failed today, and the A/C part is struggling. I will now go to Sears and buy another one #75184 (same thing).

    We bought this unit when our central unit went out. We did not have a choice but to buy a Heater/Air conditioner. The air works good but the 1st winter we had it the heating elimant was already out before we even used the heater we bought it at the begining of summer. Sears did not want to honor their warranty and fix it. We had to contact the main people in order for sears to honor the warranty and fix it. They did finally fix it but the trouble we had to go through. The heater worked that winter and the following winter. Now here winter time again and the heating elimant is out again and Sears parts and repair store would not order the part overnight. Talked to the Sears 800 # and they sd that I was about 15 minutes to late and that the parts and repair store could have overnighted it to me. It is the day before Thanksgiving and we have a sick child and no one has the part to fix it. Sears is the only place to get the parts for this air conditioner and if they don't have it you are out of luck and out of heat if this is the part you need. I do not recommend this Heater/Air conditioner to anyone for a main source of heat because it will put you in a bind. This one has only worked 1 out of 3 winters. This is the second elimant that is having to be replaced!!!!

    if you want this for a heater only it works great,i've had two and on both when it gets hot the air conditioner never works...never,try cutting the cost and selling it as a heater,then maybe you want get so many returns...DO NOT BUY FOR AIR
