Kenmore  18' TOP MT REF  ENERGY STAR®

We bought this to replace a very well used fridge. The fridge section is bigger then the old fridge which is good but it also means that the freezer section is smaller! The old fridge allowed us to put a half gallon ice cream container on both shelves on the door while this one is to short to allow this. We are also having an issue with ice build up around the fan/blower that causes a heck of noise! And it's not exactly easy to get the cover off even with an empty freezer let alone one that is 3/4 full! So I have to routinely check this. Setting the temp to normal doesn't keep things cold enough so it's set to coldest which I'm sure is part of the issue, but feel that a better shroud design would stop this from happening or making it easier to deal with. Overall though this was a much needed purchase and the best fridge in the price range we got it for. And that was available in our area.

Priced well. Good discount. Service was great both in the Sears store and the service of picking up my old refrigerators and delivering my new refrigerator. Fast, safe, and very helpful. Thank you

This refrigerator has two full-width glass shelves with a full-width deli drawer attached to one of the shelves, plus the usual two vegetable bins. Because the shelves are not split, the full-width drawer is useful for small items. But you can't see what's in the drawer due to the other items on the shelf on top of it. I would have preferred split shelves, but couldn't get them for the price we were willing to pay. I would have liked more slots for adjusting the placement of the two shelves although this model has a few more slots than other models we looked at. I find that having just two shelves limits how orderly one can be in arranging the usual foods in the fridge. This model has a separate temperature control in the freezer which I would recommend to buyers. There is also a light in the freezer which I consider a requirement. It's not as quiet as I would like, but I'm not saying it's noisy either. It took several days for the temperature to get to a steady state

I love it

I do not like the fact that this model is noisy. It seems to go on often, and I have had to keep monitoring the temperature with a thermometer. There are some sounds that are like an ice maker, and it does not have an ice maker. I had to exchange the first delivery due to freezer door not being tight, temperature issues, produce bin adjustment not working, and scratches/stain during delivery. I made several calls to speak to a manger, and after several attempts, had to go back to the store to speak to one in person, along with the produce bin and pictures of the scratches. It takes a lot of time to set up for delivery, call store, go back to store, and wait again for delivery. The two hour window is helpful though. I am still deciding whether to return it or not, and look elsewhere for a less noisy and more efficient model. I do not think this model will provide the energy savings it advertizes, since it is always running, has to be turned up above normal, not due to room temp

This refrigerator is nice looking, quiet, keeps stuff cold without freezing things on the bottom shelf. Everything I was hoping for, except for one minor issue - the upper and lower handles are about 1/8th inch out of alignment. Not enough to really get upset about though. This is my third Kenmore refrigerator and they've all been great performers.

The unit has the features on my "must have" list and more. I needed humidity controlled crispers, deli drawer, and adjustable glass shelves. The deli drawer is full width and it has adjustable door storage. Bonuses are a light in the freezer (did not expect to find that in this price range) and dual temp controls - I had given up hope of finding this under $1000. The 20 y/o refrigerator I replaced was working, but had a tendency to keep eggs and ice cream at the same temperature when the house was hot and humid. I expected a new refrigerator would not do that, but hoped to find one that would give me some control over the issue. The sale price and "Sears charge" discount brought this unit into my price range even with delivery fee. The unit still needs a bit of adjustment to get the doors to self-close properly, just have to find the right balance. The delivery crew was on time and excellent!

Overall function is quite satifactory. Humidity controlled drawers leave a lot to be desired. They are so tight if you wish to adjust them be quite concerned about maybe breaking them. very poor design.

I couldn't fit a larger refrigerator into my space, but this has a lot of room for bottles on the door and leaves the inside shelves free. First one delivered was damaged, but new one came the next delivery date. I was very satisfied with the delivery.

after reading a few worrisome reviews, I can report that my refrigerator came NEW (as opposed to another appliance from Sears a few years ago which was definitely a return), was installed and checked out by the delivery people. I've only had it for three weeks and I tried to adjust the thermostats so it would not cycle as often as it did under "normal" settings- i.e. compressor coming on every time you opened the door. It seems to consume less power than my previous refrigerator; it should save me 30 KWH each month which should be noticeable on my electric bill. The real test will be how long it will live before it conks out. They don't make them like they used to...
