    So far so good January 19, 2010

    This toaster replaces the Kenmore Elite version that I returned after the first piece of burnt-on-one-side raw-on-the-other toast that I got out of it.

    This cheaper model is all but identical to the Elite, except that this model uses typical woven metal strip heating elements.  The result is that my toast is *almost* even on each side.  The inside of the bread always come out about a shade lighter.

    The build quality doesn't inspire any confidence, but it seems ~ok.

    Otherwise, the toaster would be 5-stars.

    The slots are wide and long, it has reheat/defrost/bagel buttons, attractive looks, a nice blue light illuminates the toast setting and outlines the cancel button while on, a crumb tray, and the toast comes out reasonably even.  Coupled with a 2-year warranty, I picked this one over a $200+ Dualit toaster.  I only hope that it lasts.

    I am disappointed in this Sear's two-slice toaster. April 07, 2010

    I love the color and have the matching coffeemaker.  However, there are two problems:  1.  The toast pops up really high and out of the toaster many times.  2.  It's been 11 months since purchase and the handle won't stay down.  It was always difficult to push it down before, and now it won't even stay down.

    I bought it for the red color. Worked good for a month after then wasn't working so good.
