    Some people are never satisfied November 13, 2008

    Absolutely nothing wrong with this unit.Cleans great,you should never rinse your dishes off before running them thru a load.Scrape them off only.People don't know that the new detergents actually need foods and their proteins on the dishes for it to work properly.Plus it makes no sense at all to wash your dishes by hand and then run them thru the dishwasher.It could have a few more features,but for the sale amount it's really not that bad.Very quite as well.Oh,there is also another great tip...Once a week you should take a coffee cup,fill it with pure lemon juice or white distilled vinegar,put it in the top rack and run it thru an entire load.The acids in the juice or vinegar will break down foods,grease,and any kind of calcium or lime deposits from hard water.One last thing,most of the time when your dishes don't come clean in one cycle it's because you are overloading the machine or your not gettin hot enough water,which means don't try to put 14 place settings in it,and try to make sure that your water heater is turned up at least between warm and hot,and depending on how far away your machine is from your water heater is,you may have to run hot water thru your sink faucet till it is as hot as it's going to get and then turn on your machine.Not only do I own this machine,I am also the guy who comes to your house to fix them,and I do have to say that about 80% of the time it's not the machines fault.Either it's brand new and works differently than your last one,or because it's brand new,your trying to do way to much with it.Remember that when they say you can fit 14 place settings in the machine doesnt mean that each and every peice will come clean.When the salesman tells you 14 place settings,it's just good advertising.

    Do Not Purchase! July 02, 2008

    I would have given this product zero stars if possible! I really wish we could return it, but my husband would kill me if I asked him to take it back out. It was a hassle to install because even though it is standard size, the case has some odd protuberances in the back. This meant my husband had to cut out the back of the cupboard to fit it in the existing hole. If that wasn't bad enough, I have yet to have a load come out that did not have at least one item that had to be rewashed because of stuck on food. This is really annoying because I have rinsed and wiped off every dish that has gone into it. If you miss one small piece of food it will become dried on gunk. I have also had to dry 90% of the dishes before I put them away and I have the heat turned on. I am really disappointed because we have had good luck with Kenmore products in the past.

    Wash terrible. Silver almost always has stains. Silverware holder is poorly designed and get out of proper shape very quickly and you have problem hooking to small hooks. Does not dry well most of the time in certain areas. Must be very careful how you load machine or soap door will jam. The only good thing I can say is it is quiet. I am so sorry that I bought this machine.

    I received this as a gift so it is a little hard to complain about it. I had it 3 days and had to call repair since the clean light was blinking and my book said it was a fatal error. The repair man said it was because it was an energy star and my hot water heater was set to low. In other words, if the water was not hot enough then it would just cancel itself out and lock up. How inconvenent! I set my hot water heater up and 6 months later it still does it. It rarely makes it through a cycle without locking up. It makes it very difficult to wash a load!
