    This freezer has ease of filling and finding things when needed. April 04, 2011

    This freezer is perfect for our family of 7. We can have food at our finger tips when we need them. The children come home from school and can microwave their frozen products for an afternoon snack. The ease of use is wonderful. You can also see that it is within the range of temp. by the screen on the door. No questions asked, you know your food is kept frozen for you til it is needed.

    Basic refrigerator May 31, 2010

    Do not let the 3-star rating fool you; for this rating system, 3 stars is "average", and that is what this refrigerator is.  It is a basic, no-frills fridge that does what a fridge is supposed to do--keep food cold and fresh.  I haven't read any other reviews, so some of this may be redundant:

    Pros:  looks good (doesn't look too cheap or flimsy), keeps temps steady, no frost accumulation or condensation inside, plenty of ways to configure the shelves and door "baskets", three pull-out bins, water and ice push-buttons are NOT electronic (less chance of expensive repairs down the road!)

    Cons:  a bit on the noisy side (compressor is above-average on noise, and ice maker often sounds like someone is trying to come into my house!), fridge door can be hard to open at times (some kind of vacuum lock accumulates over time), for me there are too many shelves, ice bin can be difficult to reach into by hand (I prefer to hand-pick my ice, vice use the front dispenser), water filter expensive to replace

    Overall it's a solid, but basic, refrigerator that should last for a long time.

    We purchased our side by side refrigerator in Jan. 2011 and it died May 2012! We did not purchase the additional warranty because we "trusted that Kenmore is a reliable product." Well, the local repair shop reported the compressor is out and they cannot fix it. Sears quoted $422 for just the compressor--we paid $700 new! We are NOT impressed with Kenmore or its service!

    We purchased this for a second home. We wanted something dependable that would not break the bank. We are not always there so we wanted to know it would not break down when we were not around like our last one (what a mess). So far (almost a year now) it has worked great and we have not had any issues with it. The ice maker is slow but aside from that it has worked well.

    This Kenmore refrigerator has functioned above average since 2005. We would recommend it as a great side-by-side unit with adequate interior space. The only con is the filtered water could be colder.

    i bought mine in july and i love it the water and ice are my favorites, i had trouble with the ice maker but they came right out and replaced it the inside it big lots of shelves, the freezer has plenty of space for large packs of meat and other frozen goods i love my side by side!!!!!
