    Convenient, compact, and pretty durable overall! October 28, 2009

    The Kenmore 27 in. Super Capacity Laundry Center is great! I have 7 people in my house, and have to do about 2 loads per day. We had some minor issues with the washing unit in the very beginning, but thankfully I have a 5 year warranty on it so Sears covered it all! I am a huge fan of stacked units because it's much more convenient to load from the washer up to the dryer, and it saves on space. I can fit a lot in too, and everything is washed and rinsed very well. I throw in kids' shoes, backpacks, soccer shin guards - you name it, this machine can wash it. It must be durable as well, because I'm not a pocket checker - and I've seen some interesting things come out of this machine that I thought would've broken it for sure. If you're on a budget and trying to save, but need laundry done on a regular basis and need to rely on it, I recommend this unit! Always be sure to get the unlimited warranties as well, get the maximum amount of years under your warranty too because you never know for sure what can happen. It's a few extra dollars a month if you're going to put it on the Sears card, and well worth it!

    I have this stack machine which replaced a 19 year old stack Maytag which had only had 3 repairs in all those years. I am very disappointed with the machine. My machine does not seem to fill with enough water on any of the cycles. The dryer filter is a joke. This hugh machine and a 2 in deep filter. I have more lint up in the door than I have in the filter, and after all that it doesn't dry the clothes using a full cycle. I usually have to run another cycle especially towles. The designers of this machine needed to go back to the drawing board and change so many things before it was put on the market. I personally did not notice the filter until I started using the machine and I could not have seen the water level. I thought machines were put through testing before being put on the market. I have had Kenmore machines in my lifetime with no complaints because they really were used, I raised 3 sons and I washed everyday. My laundry is a lot less now but I still want good service from a machine. I wish I had bought another Maytag at this point. Live and learn.

    Overall, I would say this is a great washer/dryer. I purchased it because I live in a condo so it doesn't take up too much space. I really like the multiple settings on the both the washer and dryer because you can pick almost any cycle and the water level has almost 11 different settings. The hanger rack comes in handy because I always hang items directly out of the dryer. The sensor performs as expected and dries items completely but doesn't over do it. The only complaint I have is that the buzzer is really loud. Not that it is an issue but even with the laundry room door closed, its still very audible.
