Kenmore  27'' Laundry Center w/ Electric Dryer

I purchased this item 6 months ago and it has huge capacity. the dryer is very deep and so far have had no problems with it.

Although I haven't had the button or lint problem mentioned elsewhere, I am disappointed that there are not indicating bells when a washer or dryer load is done, so you have to guess. The washer is very noisy - sounds like something is going to break. The clothes come pretty clean and the capacities and temperatures are as stated, but this is just not what I was used to with my Maytag. Unfortunately, Maytag controls are above the dryer door, and unreachable for me, so I bought this in kind of a hurry. The dryer door, although it was balanced at installation, swings closed as you are trying to transfer clothes from washer to dryer. What a pain!

We replaced a kenmore unit that is similar that lasted 18 years. It fills at a sufficient level for large loads and washes clothes well. The dryer has enough settings to effectively dry different levels of clothes(heavy to light). It takes some figuring to use the dials but I like the unit fine.

This machine washes and dries great, gets clothes clean even in large loads and the dryer is exellent. But it does have a flaw others have mentioned. It will start draining the water as it is filling for the rinse cycle. The manual says this will happen after the machine's lid has been opened or has been on pause for the last 24 hours. We have opened the lid for less than a minute and will cause the problem. Sometimes it seems to bypass the rinse all togeather. Don't open the lid and no problem. Haven't lost and buttons in the dryer or broken any knobs yet.

The water levels were always low. The agitator didn't do much. After less than two weeks, and the washer bin broke off. It has plastic connectors. Note that this is a GE model with the Kenmore label. My previous Kenmore Laundry Center is over 10 years old and working great.

Bought in March a year ago. Four months out of warenty and $800.00 to replace transmission & associated parts. Unit used by couple , both worked so useage was nill. Customer service giving the usuall run around, been passed to four talking voices now. Large supervisor to call back today or Monday. Yeah right!!! Did offer to deduct $65.00 from inital service call, big woopee. Last Sears product in this family.

The quality of the Kenmore Electric Laundry Center (Model # 2661532) we purchased from Sears last January has been extremely poor. I give it one star because I don't believe the system will allow me to give it zero. Not only does the dryer rip buttons off my dress shirts with regularity (even on delicate setting), I?ve already had to put in two trouble calls for it. The second repair call came after the main, internal drain hose for the washer disconnected (apparently due to an inherent design flaw), spilling multiple gallons of water on our floor. The resulting flood ruined the carpet in two rooms, and forced us to have a number of oriental rugs professionally cleaned. Worse yet, both times we put in repair calls under our warranty service, it took almost two weeks for a technician to arrive. This is unacceptable. I had been raised to trust Sears and its products, particularly its appliances. In my mind, the Sears name meant something. Clearly, Sears time has now passed. I wish Sears luck in the 21st Century, as it will surely need it.

what a hunk of junk. I have had it 6 mo. repair man here to fix dryer. knob came broken dryer would not turn off. now washer is draining as fast as it fills. don't do it!!! not really even a Kenmore but a GE according someone in the know.

This unit was delivered at the beginning of January 10, 2012 and I called Sears back a week later to return it. Although it's a nice unit and the washer worked great, the dryer has a design flaw - there is a grate in front of the lint trap and the openings are big enough to catch buttons, zipper pulls and drawstrings. When I pulled out my first load from the dryer, the drawstring on a hoodie was completely twisted in knots...strike one! When I pulled out my second load, which was mostly button down shirts, they were all twisted into one big knot!! I could see that a button on one shirt got caught in the lint trap, causing everything to twist around it during the cycle. I had to untwist, re-rinse, button and turn all the shirts inside out and redry...strike two! When I pulled out the third load, I noticed the zipper pull on one of my fleece pullovers was completely torn off, ruining the zipper...strike three! When I checked online to see if anyone else had this problem, I found that this unit is the twin of the GE 27'' Electric Unitized Washer/Dryer, Sears Item# 02664422000 | Model# GTUP270EMWW...and based on the reviews, has the same problem. After sending out a repair tech, who agreed that this was a design flaw that to-date had no fix for, Sears did an exchange. We ended up going with a Samsung front-load washer with matching dryer stacked on top with a kit. We're very happy with what we have now!!

I would not recommend this to anyone. Sometimes after you think you have started a load of wash, you walk by to find all the lights blinking and the load is on pause. Had repairman out in 1st month due to a string that was pulled down into the machine under the agitator and wrapped so tightly it could not be unwound with out disassembling the unit. The cheap plasctic knob to the dryer also broke in 1st month. Repair man said to buy a mesh bag to put things with strings in to stop 1st problem, and be glad it's under warranty because a new knob would be $52.00 otherwise. The dryer also eats strings, tank top straps and buttons.
