Kenmore  2LB Bread Maker

This is my first bread maker, and my first time making any kind of homemade bread and I have to say it couldn't have been any easier, and the bread couldn't have come out tasting any better. The machine wasn't overly loud, but it did move around a little bit so make sure you put it in a location where it won't fall off any countertops. I used the recipe for the Country White Bread 2LB loaf with a light color and it came out great! I'll never buy store bought bread again and I can't wait to experiment with different ingredients. It doesn't say it on the box (that I could find) but it does make pastas too! There's even a recipe for it. And there's a setting for Gluten Free breads (along with a recipe), Jams, Doughs, Bagels, your imagination is the limit with this thing.

I bought this unit today and just baked my first loaf perfectly. I had doubts about this machine having read some other reviews off of ******.com. However one of the reviewers recommended using Betty Crocker's best bread machine cookbook. I made a honey wheat loaf having followed the directions to the letter and I'm having a slice lathered in butter as we speak. This is my first time using a bread machine and I have no regrets.

When we moved I gave one just like this away..never thinking I would use it again. So when this went on sale I decided I would buy it. It is a good machine and excellent for the money.

Was my first Machine and it makes bread very well for general use. Sure there is better but price was right for me.

I bought this bread maker and loved it. I made 2 loafs of great bread then when I tried to make the third loaf it didn't work. It would not start. I took it back and got another one and same thing after the second loaf nothing. It just would not work. The bread was made on diffrent days so it was not because the unit was hot. I was very disappointed because when it worked the bread was good. I would not recommend the product.

I bought to replace a black and decker that is no longer made and needs a paddle. I used it twice including putting a gripper pad under it and it still jumped across my counter when it kneads. The whole machine shakes so much and you cannot adjust the feet. I never had it happen with my old machine which was not expensive either. I returned it. Buyer beware.

This is my second bread machine. My first bread machine is a Bread Box made by Toastmaster, which I bought 15 years ago and it is still in use. I purchased the Kenmore 2lb bread maker for $35 in a Sears store. I have the machine for about a month. The bread machine has a relatively small foot print which is an advantage if you have a limited counter space. The bread machine and the bread pan portrays a cheap design feeling as the white cover of the machine is made of plastic and the bread pan is made of aluminum which is too thin in my opinion. The inner part of the bread pan however has a coating to prevent the dough and the bread from sticking to the pan. The kneading operation is noisy but comparable to my other bread maker. The dough cycle time is always 90 minutes long regardless of the loaf size. The machine has four rubber legs that are not perfectly even, but I found the machine to be stable while kneading operation. (part 1 - of the review)

Love the Ultrafast cycle, which gives you a loaf of fresh-baked bread in one hour! Must use fast-acting yeast and very few extras - I tried adding flax seed, rolled oats and currents, and got a much smaller, denser loaf than with just bread flour and the other ingredients in the recipe book.

Pros: The top lid removes for easy cleaning or access when you remove the Bread Pan. I liked the front Mylar covered Control Panel instead of pressing some clunky buttons that might be hard to clean. Cons: The manual pictured a Bread Pan that looked like it had tabs on the sides so that it could be lifted straight up and down and it would snap into some clips inside the machine. Sadly, the Pan actually rotates to insert and remove instead. It still works properly but it's inconsistent with what you're getting. My machine was not stable and wobbled back and forth on the counter from one corner to the other! The small rubber feet were ALL inserted completely but could not be adjusted for any height correction. The top plastic flange surrounding the cooking chamber was higher on the right side because a gasket under it was not fully seated properly. This made the top lid float a bit on that side so it would NOT completely close properly. I'm limited in space so I have to stop here!
