Well satisfied customer

The bearings went out on our old Maytag HE front loader and it was too expensive to fix. I didn't want to pay the over inflated price for the new front loading machines. We first bought an LG HE top loader from Sears but it had a problem when they delivered it. We exchanged it for the Kenmore top loader. The exchange was hassle free. I was apprehensive about buying the Kenmore, but it has turned out to be a really good machine and works great. One reviewer complained about the long wash cycle, and it does take longer than what we are used to. Over and hour for a large load, but smaller loads don't take as long. I washed 4 shirts on delicate this morning and it only took about a half hour. One reason for the longer cycle times is that it spends a lot of time sensing the load. It's a quiet machine and the spin cycle is smoth and quiet. Only time will tell if the machine is dependable for the long run, but so far I am very happy with it. I do agree with the other reviewer that if you have a large family and need to wash a lot of loads every day that you should probably buy a faster machine.

I HATE THIS WASHING MACHINE
I have owned Kenmore washers and dryers my entire adult life and have always been pleased. However, this machine is 2 weeks over 1 year old (no longer under warranty.) It is making this horrendous noise that sounds like metal grinding on metal and clicking. So after one year of ownership I have to pay $75.00 just to get a repairman to come out! Also, what is up with the locking lid??? I HAVE WASHED CLOTHES WITH SMALL CHILDREN FOR 30 YEARS AND NEVER NEEDED THE LID TO LOCK. I've always had enough sense to watch my child. I do not have any small children and do not need this "feature". It is like they have taken away your control of the machine. You cannot put a load in to soak overnight because the machine decides how long it will soak and then drains out the water (I have yet to figure out how long that is!) I do not like putting the clothes on top of the washing liquid/powder and not being able to rinse out the detergent cup because of the locking lid. This machine takes twice as long to go through the cycles than my old Kenmore did beause you have to wait a very long time for all of the electrical stuff to go through it's steps before you can open to add a garment. NOT THE QUALITY I AM USED TO WITH KENMORE WASHERS. I don't need a washing machine that takes LONGER to do laundry or that is idiot proof. It actually used more water, electricity, detergent because if you try to stop it or change water level it will drain completely and then refill. Ditch this design.

VERY noisy

This is the loudest appliance I have ever heard. It shakes not only during the spin cycle but during the wash also. My pets are afraid to go near the laundry room.

not energy efficient

Have had this model for over a year and hate it. Hate that you cannot regulate the amount of water. Have to put my jeans and black clothes through at least 3 rinses to get the white soap marks out and that is with using the correct laundry detergent and using VERY little. Also with my old machine, I could wash woolens on a cold delicate cycle but not with this, again too little water so too much agitation and I ended up "felting" a couple of woolen sweaters . It may not help that I often run small loads but that was never a problem with my old Kenmore. Very frustrating. Also, like another customer commented I always used to rinse out the measuring cup and now it gets so messy because you have to put detergent in first and the lid locks.

Load of you know pardon the pun

Do not waste your money on this model. This washer is a time waster. I never knew that doing 1 load of clothes could take an hour or more to wash. I can get 5 loads at the laundry mat washed, dried and folded in less time and be home to cook lunch and supper. If you want to get your laundry done in a reasonable amount of time DO NOT BUY!!!!!

worst washer EVER BIG RIP OFF

Bought new at Sears had washer 1 year and 3 months, stopped spinning. Paid a repair man to come out to say computer in washer says nothing is wrong. Then had to pay a second repair man (sears repair) to come out and say needs new motor 361.00 plus new lid lock 122. So for $483 I can repair this washer and hope nothing else goes wrong. Repairman said the kenmore people said they made this washer to only last a year or two so people would have to buy a new one. Well I am now buying a new one NOT A KENMORE OR WHIRLPOOL. After repairman left, basket is sitting on ground when I called he said oh the spension arm broke 198. to fix.

Don't Waste your hard earned money

My husband insisted that we go as cheap as possible when our GE Profile Washer needed to be replaced (25 years with not a problem). We got what he paid for...A noisy, unreliable washing machine. From one load to the next it is roulette...will it spin or not? will it fill with water or not? We bought this junker on 3/18/2013. The first two loads, the washer didn't drain and spin out. I knew that very day that this would be a decision that I would have to bite my tongue over for years. Hubby was buying and went cheap. Again, you get what you pay for which in this case is unreliable! WE are hesitant to run anything through this washer that has dog hair on it - a small blanket, a little pillow etc. There is not lint catcher. Our fault completely but another horrible part of this machine... that's enough - Don't buy this - spend an extra $100.00 to get a machine that will plug and play from the start.

I like it

I've had this item for 3 months . It is quite different from my old Whirlpool machine which lasted 20 years. I have had none of the failures reported by others. It does an effective job on all loads including a very large comforter. One has to think more about how much detergent to add, I wonder if the requirement to adddtetergent before putting in clothes is really necessary. I think many problenms are simply because this machine and all the new washers are very different from older machines. No service calls so far. I would recommend this washer. ******************

So far, so good

I had a Series 80 Kenmore washer for almost 17 years. I finally replaced it with the Kenmore 21252. I have to admit, I was apprehensive about this model after reading the reviews. I had my eyes on the model 20022, because I don't need anything fancy, but the Energy Star rating and cost savings advertised for the 21252 won me over. The ONLY complaint I have is the lid lock. I can't wash out the detergent cup, or easily toss in something I missed. Though I did notice it will unlock the lid at 3 seconds in for about another 5 seconds. I'm assuming this is to allow you to throw in another item. It does make different noises, but it is a new washer with new technology, so I expect that. It is just as quiet as my old one, maybe more so. Now we just wait and see if the overall quality is as good as the old Kenmore I had. But I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this washer.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Worst washer ever!

Run, don't walk away from this machine. Did a load of towels with a 2nd rinse yesterday and it took 1 1/2 hours! Normal washes take 1 hour! This is insane! The previous machine I had also was a Kenmore and it lasted almost 26 years. What happened to quality control? Was someone sleeping on the job??? This product is terrible. Besides taking long, clothes come out with hair and lint on them, especially dark colors. DON'T BUY THIS WASHER. Sears - you should be ashamed to even offer this washer for sale.

You call this a washing machine !!!

Where do I begin ? Hate the fabric dispenser - stains all over clothes - can't use liquid detergent - dispenser gets clogged - despise the locking feature- we think the machine filled with water but will never know - the grinding noise in the spin cycle will wake the dead - only had this washer for 16 months - cannot take another day - had to go and purchase a new washer - and it was not a Kenmore - have always had a Kenmore in the past - very disappointed in Sears - and believe everyone should receive a refund - FELT I WAS RIPPED OFF !!!!!!!!!!
