    on Kemore range 9445 July 21, 2008

I bought my smooth top range in April and love everything about it. There are a few things I need to learn to use. I will as I need them. It is so easy to keep clean . I wipe it off when it is cool and before each time I use it.The oven works very good and I never liked to do cookies till I got the convection oven. It doesn't do the rapid boil but it doesn't boil over either. It is different from the coil range burners. I have never had troubles with anything I have got at Sears.

Mine blew it March 18, 2008

I did like the way the convection oven starts for fast preheat. Oder control is overrated. Size was good. To many control options that are not necessary. The biggest downfall was that it had a minor blow up behind the range 2 weeks after I owned it. Sears took care of it ASAP. Three months later it happened again. This time I get to pick a new different range (they suggested I do not get the same one). I'm going with GE this time. I do highly recommend getting the convection and the hidden bake element.

New to radiant and convection June 25, 2008
    via bazaarvoice
    By JTLC of Seattle

I am completely new to radiant stove top and convection feature in the oven. Here are my comments on each. . . First, radiant definitely heats up instantly, boiling seemed to come pretty quickly, but I think the highest heat setting doesn't boil water as hot as my old dumpy coil stove. My old coil made violent bubbled boiling water constantly where the radiant has small bubbles and the radiant heat turns on and off even at the highest setting. Not a serious issue, but was expecting as hot or hotter. In terms of convection. . .I had NO clue how it was suppose to operate. First time I turned on the oven to preheat, I heard this scraping fan sound, like a fan running but scraping metal. Then it stopped and had sort of an electric buzz sound, but no movement of the fan. I wasn't sure if this was normal. I didn't know if the fan blades were suppose to be stationary and maybe there was some other fan moving air. . . Well, apparently that's not suppose to happen! for anyone who has similar situation. . .what I found out was that the electric cord in the back was pressing against the back range panel. This panel if pressed against the back of the fan will make the fan stop or scrape. . .I also noticed there was a large dent in the back panel. Currently working with Sears to fix or replace. I think it's working better now. Basically when the fan is running, the sound isn't too loud, has a hum but a subdued smooth hum. If yours is anything louder, check the back panel! In terms of baking cookies convection seemed to work well. Browned nicely and very even bottoms. Seemed to be lighter browning towards the door as compared to the back. The convection fan has a heat element back there and I'm told the fan is suppose to spread the heat evenly, but if your cookies are next to the fan like litterally against it, it will brown slightly more from my experience.

I bought this range in April, and I am very satisfied. It looks great in my new kitchen. It is also very efficient and easy to use. The delivery men were very professional and courteous. I was a bit worried because people had given it a bad review, but I do not see anything wrong with it.

    1992 to 2008 Kenmore again June 04, 2008
    via bazaarvoice
    By Enjoyit of Jacksonville, FL

Over a decade was my last new range, yes, it was a Kenmore model 95629, a glass top electric range. This model 94459 is an update with the convection oven, air guard for oder control, dual burners, power element and simmer control. Convection fan is wonderful, baked cookies evenly and quickly. No more cookies that are over baked on the bottom and under baked on the top. Roasts perfectly. Controls are easy to handle once you read the instructions similar to operating a microwave oven. The glass top is even easier to clean and the Airguard is a plus. The heating elements are great, haven't over cooked anything yet. Power element quickly boils water and I like this feature. The warming feature is in a good location, in the center back. The set up of the large elements in front and small ones in the back are sensible as I use the larger elements most of the time. My old range still works except the glass top had an accident. I shopped for a month and looked at many brands but since it lasted 16 years and would have kept on going had the glass not cracked, I said it would be Kenmore again and I am glad I chose this model with a convection oven .
