It is my first time with a flat top stove. I like it now but when I first got it, I felt like the pots were sliding on the top! Glad I got over that!

I can't tell you how frustrated I am with this oven. I have had it for five months, and it's been nothing but a headache. The main problem is that the temperature control is horribly inaccurate. If I set it to 350, it's usually about 375 or 380. BUT this is not always the case. Sometimes it's hotter than that, and sometimes it's cooler than that. So this means that I cannot just manually adjust the temperature myself with any great success. Often during cooking I have to keep turning the temperature down, and even opening the oven door to cool things down more rapidly. It's terrible! We've bought quite a few Kenmore appliances over the years, but our two most recent purchases--this range and a french door refrigerator--have been very disappointing. I think we're done with Kenmore for good.

This cooktop has been my dream and it is wonderful to clean...3 minutes and done! BUT why in the world would you have open vents on the oven door with a warning not to get water or any liquid into to vents? As I discovered, the reason is because whatever goes into the vents, goes right between the glass on the oven door and you can't get it out...so there it stays! Fortunately, I only splashed plain water in there when cleaning the cooktop but still, I have water spots inside the oven glass forever. Whoever designed this door, never actually used and cleaned the stove.

This stove stinks. It takes about 7 minutes to heat 1" of water to boiling. It takes about 15 minutes to preheat the oven. The heating element on the bottom of the oven is underneath the oven bottom, so the entire bottom becomes superheated whenever the oven is on. If there is ANYTHING on the bottom of the oven or if anything drips, you smell it burning the entire time the food is cooking. It smells like you are cleaning the oven every time you use it (even the first time I used it). Compared to my old stove, the drawer is much smaller and seems very flimsy. I can see it falling apart very soon. They don't make things the way they used to. I am not happy.

I love my new range! It has features that I wouldn't have expected at the price I paid. It looks beautiful in my new kitchen and I'm very with it's performance!

The stove looks lovely, cooks evenly, large oven & dual burner. Functionally and aesthetically perfect. There are two features that I am really having a hard time with. The first concerns me for safety reasons, the second is just plain annoying! First is the "Hot Surface" light. It's TINY & located on the control panel rather than the cooktop. Barely noticeable, does NOT draw your eye unless you remember to look. Also, the ONE indicator light does not show which burner or burners to watch out for, just lets you know "something" is hot. My old stove had a four-light configuration right in the front part of the glass cook top that shows what was hot or not. If I had little ones, this would scare me. Second, when the oven is on, the clock is not. I don't want to see the temp for 4 hours, I need the clock. Especially on holidays with 4-5 dishes going...meat goes in at A, side 1 at A+30 min, side A+60, crescents at almost-done-time... A timer just doesn't cut it.

Within a week the top cracked or scratched. My pans have smooth bottom and nothing sharp, but sears said not their problem. Everytime I cook the whole house was full of smoke and alarms would go off. Therefore nothing can be on the bottom. Not even one little piece of food. I did the self clean and it took the finish off the bottom of the oven. Sears is coming out for the second time so wish me luck. I love the features but it is cheaply made. I also have read many reviews after I bought it about sears glass tops. Lots of complaints about cracking and scratching. Yet they do nothing. :(

I bought this product when I remodeled my kitchen last month. It came out the first beautifully. Since I've seen my friends' stoves with ugly scratches, I've been very careful for caring, not to turn on too hot, use only paper towel on the clean sample that came with the product, with clean pots without moving... Plus I don't cook very much at all. However, at the 2nd week of use the product, I got a scratch already last night. At beginning I thought it was dirt, so I applied a dip of sample cleaning, and tried to wipe off using paper towel. It didn't go away, then another dip, another one.. then I realized it was a scratch already. This is after the very first time I fried fish on the 2nd week using a pot from IKEA. I didn't see anything wrong from my careful operation, but how come it came a scratch. Can't imagine how bad the scratches will look like after many years of use. Yes I did hope this product can last at least some years....

Stainless looks good and design is clean, but the bottom drawer is flimsy. Like left front dual burner. Like big oven glass. Front right burner is too big for all but 11" pans and skillets etc. The Right front burner should also be a dual burner to be really useful for a variety of pans and skillets. Controls logical and well placed. Not sure about cleaning cook top - hoping it will stay looking like new over time. Decent value if on sale.

This stove replaces a similar one that lost its control panel during a power surge. It is an improvement in that the oven element is covered and that it has a quick-heat burner.. I liked my old stove better because: 1. The back had a flat top that served as a temporary shelf for salt etc. while I cooked. 2. The oven worked by a dial that remained in service after the power serge. This oven must be controled from the vulnerable panel. -and the panel controls are not obvious, requireing keeping printed instructions handy for visiting users. 3.The old stove had a smooth, but not a mirror shiny cooking serface. This one requires more cleaning to look it's best. The only physical defect that I have found in the new stove is a small (1/4 to 1/2 inch) irregular light circle in the cook serface. Trapped air? I can live with this little "birthmark" as long as it does not affect the life of the serface.
