Kenmore microwave
Needed a new microwave. The product is fine but it cost almost as much to have it delivered and installed as the price of the product. As a 76 year old single woman with llimited financial resources this $159 delivery and installation for a $200 microwave was a heavy burden. Next time I will do more shopping for better service.

Biggest hunk of junk I've ever bought
Microwave originally cost me $443 and within two years we had it repaired twice!!! Now we have to throw it away because it totally crashed. Will never buy from Sears again!!!

Power 50 isn't really Power 50
The previous 2 microwaves we've owned have been Panasonic "Genius" models. We would've bought another "Genius" for our new home, but they don't make an over-the-range model. Because we've had past success w/ other Kenmore appliances, we went with this microwave. Turns out we were spoiled by the Panasonic models. When you cook something at 50% power on a "Genius", you truly get 50%. Unfortunately w/ this Kenmore, when you cook at "50%", you're actually cooking on high 50% of the time. This is not as effective for reheating or cooking food. One other hassle - there is a charcoal filter that needs changed every 6-12 months. However, the screws to access it are on top of the microwave. Because of our cabinet design, we can't get to the screws. So the only way to change the filter is to completely uninstall the microwave. Other than this, we've very few complaints. The "beeps" are actually quiet & pleasant, but loud enough to get your attention. The controls are user friendly.

I like the microwave very much. Now that I have it at home and am able to use it, I realize the keypad could be improved on by making the letters and numbers brighter and easier to see, especially at night. The sales women who helped me, (there were two of them) were especially helpful in getting me the ********. They were excellent.

Kenmore Microwave Model 8503-DON'T BUY!!!!!!!
If you do not buy their extended warranty be prepared to pay a service call in one year. This is my third appliance to need repair and all were bought at the same time. This microwave is just out of Sears warranty and either will cook for a few seconds or not at all. Sears appliances aren't what they used to be. 0 Stars!! Review will only enter site with one star but it doesn't deserve that.
