    Kenmore 35 Pint Dehumidifier with Electronic Controls May 12, 2011

    This dehumdifier worked better then expected. It got the moisture out of my finish basement in 3 days. with all the rain we have been having that is a miracle. I have it on the lower fan setting and it is now keeping the downstairs at the 35% setting with no problem. Great little piece of equipment. Only little drawback is the fan is a little louder then I like at high setting.

    Poor Durability October 06, 2010

    I purchased this model in 2006. Just after the 1 year warranty expired, it stopped working.  Thankfully it was the compressor that was covered under the 5 year warranty and Sears replaced it with a new unit at no cost.  My second unit just quit working after 3 years with a blown fan motor.  This repair is not under warranty and will cost $109 to fix which $59.99 of that is labor cost.  I'm going to junk it and move on to another brand.  2 Kenmores in 4 years seems pretty risky.  While working, it seemed to work well, but got increasingly noisy as time went by.

    Have bought plenty. All dry very well but at the beginning the problem was the fan motors (replaced quite a few); then, on newer models, it was the hose drainage system (leaky and flimsy); now, great drainage system, but won't come on after power outage. Really bad if you wanted it for your vacation home!

    I purchased this to keep the humidity down in the house during the summer months. I am suprised at the sound it makes as it is more noiser than a window AC unit. The controls are nice and the digital display is easy to read. Doesn't take the unit long to take the moisture out and the container is easy to remove to empty.

    We were afraid to try the Dehumidifier for our motorhome as we had read so many reports about it being very noisy. We also read so many reports about it being hard to dump the bucket and replace it back in the slot. We have now had this in our motorhome for two weeks and everything seems to be just fine. We can run the fan on high when we need to and if you sit right beside it, it can become a little annoying at time but if the fan is on low, there seem to be no problem hearing most everyone and being on the phone is no problem. We only run the Dehumidifier along the coastal areas or anytime that it gets cold out and we need help keeping the windows clear. We have no trouble dumping and replacing the bucket. As we have only had this for two weeks! I cannot talk about how long it may last but we did buy the extended warranty so maybe we will get luck that way as well. We would recommend this to anyone that need a dehumidifier in a small area. I would have like to have the larger one but it would not fit where we needed it to sit. Hope this helps your decision if you need to buy this product!
