      This is an excellent grill with a few flaws October 04, 2010

      I've read all the reviews about the poor workmanship but fail to see any serious issues with this grill. Sure it isn't a top-of-the-line but has many of those fancy features you want. As far as function it cooks well using low heat - as it is designed to do. Remember the charred outer surface you crave is not healthy and potentially cancerous. One of the best ways to avoid this is to cook with lower heat. Given that I'd say this grill cooks nicely... just be a bit more patient. If you really need that outer crust...sear it on the side burner for a minute or so!

      5 burner kenmore grill very big May 03, 2011

      I like the grill, however the corners of the side shelves are very pointy and poke into the $50 cover that i bought with it. it seems that the heat inside the grill doesnt get abovre 450 degrees unless i turn on the back burner which takes alot of gas to run it. My grill was put together for me by the people at the sears store i bought it at in council bluffs Iowa and I didnt notice until I got home that there was a good sized dent in the front of the grill. I helped the guys load it however they had the front of the grill and I had the back and didnt see it. I am VERY disappointed in that. Not sure I would have them put anything together for me again. Overall I really like the grill and it does keep the meat from drying out as much. has enough space to cook everything I need to for my family and guests. Starts up easily every time and does get up to 400 degrees pretty quickly. however the back burner doesn't lite as easily and when i thought it was lit it wasn't and built up a little gas for a pretty good POOF. Not a real big deal I just need to pay attention a little more. I would recomend this grill to my friends, and have!

      Unable to get above 400 deg!!! Read reviews when it first came out (not many) and finally saved up to buy it. Boy did I get shafted!!! Should have read them again prior to buying. Was going to go through Sears, but read that they have poor custmer service. Called Char-Broil directly. Was asked to swap out tanks (swapped 4 times diff units). Didn't fix issue so Char-Broil sent a new manifold (thank you). I changed it out myself and saw an increase to 430 deg on a good day. Read a review of "burning food being bad for you" and the grill was designed to cook at low temps. Whatever!!! What about cooking the way you want to and cooking with indirect heating. I can't get the temp above 330 deg with 2 burners off to cook Beer Can Chicken/Prime Rib/Turkeys!!! This is just a chicken breast/hamburger/hotdog grill. If you are a pro griller, I don't recommend this at all. Nice looking grill and good customer service from Char-Broil, but still have a huge problem wasting lots of $$$ on this grill to cook chicken breast/hamburgers/hotdogs. I might be able to get grill marks on toast :) using the main burners. CaribeMonkey, you are surely a ROOKIE.... Stick to your burgers & dogs

      I HAVE HAD THIS GRILL FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS NOW AND AM EXTREMELY SATISFIED WITH IT. THERE WAS A PART MISSING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE SENT ME A NEW ONE WITHIN DAYS. EVERTHING WORKS AS ADVERTISED. I WILL SEE OVER TIME IF THE RELIABILITY IS THERE.

      OK- I bought this because I tend to have big parties and need to grill a lot burgers/chicken/ribs at the same time. On that front this baby DELIVERS! However... if you do not entertain often or only grill once in a while - you would be better off with the 4 burner version. My only complaint on this one is that I wish it had cast iron versus steel grill grates. VERY satisfied!
