    Kenmore Hot Water Heater, Natural Gas looks good and works well. February 03, 2012

    An inexperienced person would have trouble installing this unit, but I found it easy to install after slight modifications to the existing piping.  The installation instructions could have been written more clearly, but I am pleased with the unit and like the safety features included on it.  The unit seems to work well and function properly.

    Kenmore Economizer 6 50 gal Hot water heater FAIL February 06, 2012

    02-04-12 I have owned this unit for 2.5 years and it has been acting uo lately running and shutting down. It now needs a new gas valve 232.00 and a new fv sensor 87.00. Service call was 69.00 from a well trusted, local service proffessional to find this out. I went to Sears today to see what they could do for me since it isnt that old and I was put on the phone with service who said it was out of warranty after the 1st year unless I bought the "Sears warranty plan" and that there were no recalls on the water heater or the two parts and I was on my own. They offered to shedule Sears service and that it would be a cash call. THANKS KENMORE and SEARS! (not) I currently dont have hot water and I am not sure where to put my money. BEWARE OF THE NO ACTUAL WARRANTY ON THESE THINGS. SEARS is certainly not the company it used to be.

    NOT REALLY WARRANTED
