    Easy install. Some trouble with calibration on thermostat. June 16, 2010

    Did not like connectors for hot and cold water pipes. I had brass fittings on old water heater. The new ones were metal pipe fittings. (Rust?) 

    Water was not hot at 140 degree setting had to turn up to 180 to get (hot) water.

    Not any problems since install. Seems to heat and retain heater water very well.

    Kenmore Electric Power Miser 9 - 55 gal. July 29, 2010

    Bought two of these and they functioned great. The problem is they rust out from the bottom. The first one was within the warranty period so Sears provided a replacement. Now, the second one is only five years old and the same thing has happened. Sears will not replace it because it was already replaced. I contacted the manufacturer the first time and asked why they didn't provide legs on the bottom like the gas models. The tank sweats and not only is it ruined, but so is my floor. Never did get a reply from them. Did notice watching HGTV they are placing small blocks under this tank to raise it off the floor to prevent it from rusting out.

    We had our original hot water heater for 25 years and just decided to replace it when we installed our new softner and RO system. 25 years old and it was still working! Had our new Sears Kemore water heater professionally installed and less than 4 years later the tank blew out! Split the whole seam in the back! Not sure why the relief valve didn't do its job to prevent this. Unbelievable. Thankfully someone was home at the time or we would have had a flooded house!

    purchased (well a replacement 9/08, started leaking from the top 6/4/11, called Sears had a maintainance contract they replaced it with same unit today,after 156.00 in various charges, permits, valves etc not covered. In fairness we do have well water , but it is filtered. I dont think I will be getting service contract when they call again as it probably would have cost as much just to replace it. I want to try tankless next time.

    had heater for 2 weeks. i noticed that my water is hot comming out of the faucets but just warm when comming out of the shower. I had this problem prior to this new water heater so maybe its just my house. I have a family of 6 and so far we have not ran out of warm water for showers.( i say warm because i like it super hot, the kids are happy with the current temp.) I might adjust it to a higher setting just for my preferences. Im not afraid to do that now that i know im under warranty. I researched installation costs and warranty services. sears is priced the best on this island for all you other locals looking for a new water heater.especially since I dont live in the vicinity and needed delivery and installation. I love this heater because i can wash dishes and do laundry in the afternoons with no worries about warm water running out for showers at night. I will adjust it & let you know how it turns out for me later. side note never buy a reliance water heater, it gave me so much problems. not worth it.
