    Love this Vaccum June 04, 2009

    Yes it is true this vaccum is on the heavier side. But when compared to other vaccums of this size and power it is exactly the same. We went from a Eureka small vac that weighed 5-6lbs and the wheels kept falling off to this vaccum was a big transition. But my wife and I love it. We have two cats and it picks up all the hair from smooth floors to carpet. Area rugs are a breeze to vaccum with this as well. I would recommend to anyone to try it

    Suction and cleaning is excellent, however I find the unit very heavy and cumbersom. I actually hate it, should have taken it back after the first use. I WILL always stand by "Sears" and the products I have purchased from them and will so now, I had the Sears guarantee and the option of returning and replacing it with a different model so I am stuck with it because of my own lack of judgement to return within the 90 day period.

    Heavy - when the bag is FULL!

    I purchased my Kenmore Progressive with Direct Drive Upright Vacuum in 2002. I was encouraged by the Sears sales person (whom personally owned one) and my husband that this one was the answer to my allergy concerns. The HEPA filter and cloth bags, not to mention the awesome suction power - that's what it's all about anyway, right?! I've had such success that I've talked my parents into purchasing one and I'll certainly consider another one if/when this one "retires". I've used many vacuums in my 40+ years of cleaning (personally and professionally) and I wouldn't hesitate to encourage my other family/friends and strangers alike to purchase one. We work for our money and so should our vacuum.

    I've had my Kenmore vaccuum cleaner now for a few years and it has served me well. I've found that it has good suction and cleans the edges well. Also like the onboard tools that it has. The one dislike I have is that it is a heavy vacuum but all around works good.

    I have a Kirby vac, but after purchasing this Kenmore it has become my favorite.  Great power and wonderful for pet lovers, allergy sufferers and carpeted stairs.  My teenage son said it was a fun vac and immediately began cleaning everywhere!  I purchased a second one the same day about two hours later.  Cost was $126 with a three year protection plan included in the price.  Can't beat that with a baseball bat.  I am very happy with my purchases.

    Vacuum is heavy, but manuvers easily if you use the wheels.

    Replacement of Eureka 6 yrs. old. On sale, a floor model, without a manual and no salesperson help. Bought for $80.00 ( price determined sale), no box. Seems heavy but has good suction and mechanical raise and lower feature seems good,hopefully will not be a problem waiting to happen. I wonder what year this unit is. Had Kenmores before, wonder what country this is from, no doubt China. Will try for a week and if not satisfied will take back and purchase a more expensive unit out of box at Sears.The price drove this sale.

    First useage the special bag broke off the cardboard holder and I had to replace the bag. Luckly I bought some bags also. However the cardboard holder had to be trimmed to fit in the unit, even though the model numbers of the bags were the same.

    I would like Sears to get me a manual so I will know more about the unit and to see if I got all the tools that should have come with it.

    I don't usually buy floor models.
