    Kenmore Intuition Canister Vacuum is very quiet and works great. February 22, 2011

    After many years of various brands of upright vacuums, I decided to go back to a canister. I love the retractable cord feature instead of winding cords around the handles. The canister has the ability to clean right up to the wall under kitchen cupboards, whereas the uprights are too high and I used to have to sweep and vacuum in combination. The added bonus of the Kenmore Intuition is that it easily transitions from carpet to bare floor with a push of a convenient button right on the handle. I love the dirt sensor; it lets me know when an area is clean and I can move on. It is also very lightweight and makes stairs easier to clean. An unexpected bonus was how quiet the Intuition is. Our dog goes berserk in a frenzy of barking with our previous vacuums. He is only mildly interested in the Intuition and doesn't even pay attention when I vacuum; the operation is very quiet. Finally I vacuum in peace and in a fraction of time. I really love this vacuum.

    The Kenmore vacuum cleaner is not what I thought it would be February 16, 2011

    I bought an Electrolux canister first. The suction was great, the size was great. The hose however did not rotate at the base of the cleaner. I previousy owned a miele vacuum, paid alot of money for it and had it repaired 3 times in seven years. I was not going to make that mistake again. I vacuum everyday, I have a dog and 3 kids. I need something dependable. My mom has had an electrolux for years. So I went with that. I could not get over how the hose did not rotate and follow along with my cleaning. Electrolux has been around for many years. They have never thought of this concept?? I returned my electrolux and bought a kenmore canister. I already have one upstairs in the bedrooms. I like the one I have upstairs. It does my hardwood floors beautifully. I love the floor piece that comes with it...not too big, not too small. I was not happy with the new kenmore. The hose was too long and the canister was getting caught up on furniture. The power was not comparable to the electrolux. It was too big. I did however love the stair piece that came with it! I returned the kenmore and went back and got my electrolux! The new one does not kink up on the hose. It follows along beautifully while I am vacuuming. There definately was a kink in the old electrolux

    I've always preferred cannister vacuums and this one is no exception. The design makes it comfortable to use with the telescoping wand and that the head almost propels itself. The light and dirt sensor really help me feel like I'm getting the job done. I like having all the tools on board in their own compartment rather than outside where they get in the way. I absolutely LOVE the pet power mate!! It does fantastic on upholstery, stairs and drapes! I'm not fond of is the 3-wheel design because the middle roller bar doesn't seem to work very smoothly for moving or turning. I also wish there was a better way than the metal push pin for attaching and detaching the tools as I have medium long fingernails and I have trouble pushing this.

    Long cord

    I clean houses professionally, and have been using a Sears cannister for years, and loved it, it did a better job than anything else on the market. However the newer models have gotten more expensive and the vac itself it a cheaper quality. It now comes with attachments I will never use, and the basic pieces are no longer included, or are made so cheap the are unusable. I have talke to my local Sears store, and also called their 800 number. They were all very rude and did not care at all that I was very unhappy with the machine, and did not seem to know much about their product. I need a vac that will do it all , and this one just does not measure up to what I have expected anymore.

    heavy/bulky canister-won't go straight

    I have never used such a bad vacuum in my life.  The suction is very good but the bud stuff outweighs that by a mile.  You cannot control the canister as you vacuum across the room.  It does not align in  a straight line and thus slams in to all of your furniture and walls.  It is heavy and bulky and "UNCONTROLABLE"!  Unless you want to absolutely dread vacuuming every week, buy a different vacuum.

    Powerful,Quiet,Reliable,Amazing SUCTION and EASE of use!,Ease of Use,Good metal hose end for attachments,Good dusting brush with soft bristles,Great vacuum,Attachments stored in canister,Long cord,Weight is fine,End of hose is Metal not plastic!

    Need lock on carpet head for stairs,Hatch on canister seems little flimsy

    Had to replace my model 116.22613201, blue, which must be 10 years old.  Bought model #29914, red Intuition and LOVE it!  1/2 our home has hardwood and 1/2 carpet but have to vacuum hardwood most often.  The new light at the end of the wand is great for those darker places on the hardwood!  Love the easy extension of the wand. Some complaints about wand and power head falling over if you leave it to stand by itself,  but if you must do that easily push the wand to the lowest extension or support it.  Not a problem and quite like my old model.  It's much quieter than my old machine.  The front wheel does tend to go in more of a circle when you pull it but if you just hold the hose closer to the canister it will follow you just fine. Great suction and excellent cleaner.  The only change I would like them to make is to be able to lock the powerhead so when you use it on stairs it would stay straight. Accessories are stored in the canister and this does have the long bristle dusting brush which is a must!  I did not like the short bristle one stored on the handle the newer models have.  Also like the light weight of the hardwood floor brush that is stored in the canister like my old model. Have opted to not store the little stair/hair remover attachement in the canister as I like to keep the whole machine as light as possible.  I will likely not use that little attachement and have not even tried it out. Love our new vacuum!
