    The best vacuum cleaner I've ever had! February 01, 2011

    I've had various different brands over the years and my first experience with a Kenmore canister vacuum(maroon color) was a nice one. It wore out few years ago, so I bought a new one, this time upgraded to a yellow one(don't know the model number). This was more powerful, quieter, and extra convenient features that I liked. After few years of usage, I decided to buy another to keep one on each floor. When I visited the store, they said it was discontinued and they showed me a new model with same Kenmore name. I did not like the new model and it was $100 more expensive. I didn't take it and checked online and am so happy I found the yellow one. I highly recommend this to anyone. I love it so much that I'm very tempted to buy another one to store it away for the future!

    Sorry we wasted so much money September 26, 2010

    We purchased this vacuum 2 years ago and it was good until a little after the first year.  As we would start to use the unit, the vacuum would lose power to the main roller and shortly after that we noticed a burning smell.  The telescopic wand's electrical plugs were melting the plastic around it.  The bag design is not the best as their is not enough room for the bad to fully expand.  Don't waste your money on this unit.

    not good quality for the price

    18 years ago we bought a light gray kenmore power-mate for vacuuming our 3 dog houshold. 8 yrs ago the plastic wheel broke but we still use it in the garage. 8 years ago we bought the maroon power-mate to replace it. within 2 yrs it was in the shop. at 4 yrs the hose broke. at 5 yrs the power mate attachemet broke. 3 yrs ago we bought the yellow power-mate,. at one year the the telescoping wans wont stay locked, at 2 yrs the power mate was intermittant . Now it only works half the time. Today we bought a Riccar and hope the 5 yr warranty and 2X the price is worth it. We took it home and vacuumed today after using the Kenmore yeterday, We filled up the bag, so that tells you how much better it was than the Kenmore.

    Bought this 2 years ago and purchased above my original intentions, which was a mistake as the engine is gone on this vacuum with only moderate use. I am very disappointed. What happened to quality?
