    Finally a Vacuum that Sucks! October 21, 2008

    I was just reading some of the negative reviews on here and was really suprised by them. I have had my Kenmore canister for going on 3 years now and it is the best vacuum I have ever had. I have gone from vacuum to vacuum and most of them only lasted a year if that. This vacuum is the best for going from carpet to hard floors, no more brooms to just move the dirt around and it gets corners and edges without having to single them out. Recently I had a major flea problem from 2 kittens we got for our kids birthday and if I didn't have this vacuum I would probably still have them. It has major suction and got up all the fleas and eggs. If you have ever had a flea problem it is about impossible to get rid of them with their 4 stage life cycle. I couldn't imagine having a bagless one and not being able to throw away the bag everyday I vacuumed to get rid of the fleas. Having bags is a no mess way to clean out your vacuum. I have had numerous bagless ones in the past that get dust everywhere when emptying them, doesn't ever get all the dust out and I had to clean the foam filters everytime I vacuumed and wait for them to dry. I would strongly recommend this vacuum to everyone no matter what size your home is. My mother, grandmother and I all three have this vacuum and love it. Don't waste your money anymore buying cheap ones that don't suck or expensive ones that this one does just as good if not better than. The bags really aren't that expensive either. It sure beats cleaning filters and getting dust everywhere. If you want clean this is the vacuum for you. After reading all those negative reviews on this, I'm sure they must have got a lemon or not taken care of it. Kenmore canister is the way to go.

    Great when worked April 14, 2008

    I purchased mine as a refurbished unit. This vacuum worked great when it was new. However, after 2 years of use (once a week in a small condo), the motor started to smell like it was burning when on. I took care of the unit so it was not abuse. I purchased the 3 year extended warranty so I returned it to Sears for repair. After 10 days, it was returned to me with the motor issue not fixed. I returned it again for service. After 6 days, they called and said that the motor was bad and that they would repair it under warranty. It was ready 4 days later so I returned to pick it up. However, when I picked it up, they said that they decided not to fix the motor because it was not covered under the warranty. They said that I should not have been allowed to by the 3 year ext warranty and that it was not their fault that I was allowed to. To quote the person in the store, she said "It's not our problem". I'm still trying to get this issue resolved and will NEVER buy a Kenmore product, or an product for that matter, from Sears again!

    I am surprised when I see people complaining about this absolutely great vacuum. It does everything I need it to do. It picks up everything. I absolutely hate using "non-bag" vacuums. When you have to empty them, the filthy dirty dust flies into the air and up my nose and in my hair and clothes. That dust is full of dust mites and their pooh!!!! Yuck!!!! Why would anyone like that?!? Give me vacuum bags anytime over that! I recommend this vacuum! It's tops in my book!!

    Vacuuming is (by far) the chore I like the least, so when I give this vacuum 4 stars I mean it. Its so much easier than the old upright we used to have and is great for getting under furniture. It's easy to switch the attachments and change the bag. I do wish that the guide light stayed on even when the vacuum was not on the rug setting, but I suppose this is a minor flaw.

    lightweight, high power, good "sucking", attachments fit former Kenmore canister so are interchangeable when one wears out - very happy with the replacement to my 15-year old Kenmore canister.
