    The Kenmore Elite 1393 does an excellent job. January 27, 2011

    We are very pleased with our Kenmore Elite 1393. It did an excellent job - cleaned much better than our old high-end GE dishwasher. Also, using the rinse agent made everything dry quickly (even plastic lids) without the need to use the heated drying cycle. Note that all of the new high efficiency dishwashers take close to two hours for their normal cycles, but do use half as much energy and water as the older machines. We had originally purchased the Kenmore Elite 1392, but had two problems with the 1392: The exposed controls were too easy to brush against by mistake when working on the counter space above the dishwasher. (Thus, we found it necessary to use the control lock function to avoid inadvertently turning it on.) Also, my wife has arthritic hands which made opening the dishwasher very difficult. Otherwise the 1392 and 1393 are functionally equivalent. We would recommend purchasing the Kenmore Elite 1393 (with handle and hidden controls) if you have arthritis or are likely to inadvertently lean against the exposed controls on the 1392.

    This Kenmore Elite dishwasher tub is wet after cycle. May 02, 2011

    I purchased this dishwasher about 30 days ago. It's very quiet. It seems to clean well, although I haven't really tried dishes with dry, stuck on food yet. It dries the dishes almost completely dry. However, the inside of the tub is dripping wet after they cycle is complete. Water is dripping from the top and running down the walls. If I take out the clean dishes and close the door, it starts to develop an odor. So I've been leaving the door open for most of the day to let the tub dry out. I've had the repair sevice look at it twice, but they were unable to find a problem. I don't know if this is a problem with this model, or just with my machine. I'm thinking of returning it for another model.

    I have owned the Kenmore Elite Dishwasher for about three month and I haven't had any problems. It gets my dishes very clean and dry. It is so quiet we can run while watching TV and it never wakes me up min the middle of the night when I use the delay cycle. I typically use the Normal and the Eco cycles with the heat drying. The 4-hr. delay cycle option has been nice too, since I can run it later at night when our electricity is cheaper. I always use the Control Lock feature too-otherwise it would be easy to accidentally press a cycle option unintentionally when opening and closing the washer when not using the handle. I would recommend using a stainless steel spray cleaner every few weeks to keep the stainlesss looking extra clean. When comparison shopping, we looked at a Bosch unit-the Bosch racks are a lot smaller since the motor is in the back & it didn't have the heat dry option (which I dislike wet dishes, so I wanted the heated dry option). I have been extremely happy with this dishwasher.

    I have had this unit for about 16 months. It is now completely and utterly dead. I have had a very experienced technician look at this product and he tells me that the circuit board on this unit is fried--it drew way too much power, and has now killed the unit. In fact, it drew so much power that the wire nut connector was melting! The unit runs very quietly--at least I don't feel bad having forced to give this unit one star. But I don't appreciate spending close to a thousand dollars on a POS product that last me a little over a year. Run from this product.

    We purchased this dishwasher to replace an old out dated dishwasher we had for years. We chose this dishwasher because of the Giant stainless steel tub and the 360 turbo wash. This dishwasher is also super quiet. We love the look of this dishwasher because of the controls are hidden, it really blends with our other appliances.
