    A little crowded January 10, 2011

    I think the problem of the prior review with the center burner is an isolated one. The lay out of the 5 burners condensed into 30 inches looks sleek but may be too crowded if you are a cook that has more than 3 skillets at a time going. More than 3 skillets with the use of the middle burner is near impossible. However the middle burner can cook so quickly that I'm not on it for very long. I am impressed with how gentle the lowest settings can go for delicate sauces. So far am very pleased with the general ease of care and pleasure to cook on this professional looking cooktop.

    Great concept, but dual burner has issues January 05, 2011

    We love the layout and design of this gas range, but the dual burner may have design problems. When you turn it all the way down (inner burner) then back to medium (outer burner), the outer burner does NOT relight so gas is leaking into the house. I'm having a tech come out later this month, but it appears to be a design issue with this new model.

    I installed this stovetop 1 week ago. When you turn the knob to light it, it immediately is on the high setting and have to turn the knob all the way around to get to low. Not to bad. The problem I see is when you go to turn it off, you have to go through the "lite" part again. I am wondering, just how long the automatic "lite" is going to last before I have to replace it. The middle burner somehow gets stains under the burner caps on the metal part of the fixed burner head that you can see and I can't get it clean. I haven't even had a "boil-over" yet. Now, I feel like I have a dirty stovetop that folks will see. I thought the stainless steel would be great, however, it is hard to keep clean and you have to use special products. I do like the way it cooks the food in the pan at an even temperature all over the pan and not in one spot (usually the middle). FYI

    I would not recommend this product to anyone. We bought it one month ago and one of the burner is already not working. However, it looks very nice. I never had issues with kenmore until I bought this cooktop. My dishwasher, oven, washer, dryer and refrigerator are all kenmore and did not have to have one service call. Very dissapointed with this cooktop.

    Pros:
    Great Solution in a 30-inch space.

    My husband is admittedly the better chef in our home than I am, but we both still have a passion for cooking so we decided to upgrade our electric cooktop for a gas model as our Christmas present to each other this year. And we couldn't be ore thrilled with the decision! We already have a Kenmore Elite dishwasher so we chose this model to match that and to stay within the 30" size cooktop we already had. I really feel that with the larger dual burner in the center that we didnn't compromise at all. That burner is already our go to burner and I was so pleased that it could adequately heat our largest All Clad pan when I made stuffing for the holidays. I know that we will have many years of using and enjoying this range.
