  • Enjoy the fastest, most flexible surface cooking available - induction delivers faster, more responsive cooking with near instantaneous temperature changes. It works by producing a magnetic field which heats the pan instead of the cooktop making spills much easier to clean-up off the cool cooktop surface
  • Enjoy super fast heating times using less energy - induction cooktop features Power Boost to let you go from a low simmer to a rolling boil twice as fast as gas or electric cooktops
  • Prepare fabulous meals fast and easy - utilizing one fan and the addition of a hidden third heating element, True Convection prepares evenly baked and beautifully browned foods throughout the oven even when filled to capacity
  • Cook multiple dishes at once - large 4.2 cu. ft. self-clean oven for great cooking capacity
  • Gain more control over your cooktop - Electronic Surface Element Controls (ESEC) allow each element to go from the lowest of simmer settings to highest of power settings and since the controls are digital the exact setting can be duplicated anytime
  • Get the desired degree of doneness every time - convenient Temperature Probe takes the guesswork out of cooking. Just set the oven temperature to the required setting and insert the probe into the roast
  • Put an entire hot meal on your table all at once every time - the Warm & Ready™ drawer helps maintains serving temperature without further cooking food

Kenmore Slide-in Induction Range not as nice as I hoped. September 16, 2011

Be careful buying this range as a replacement unit. The tech wasn't able to actually install it properly because our tile floor extends under the range space. This doesn't seem like an uncommon situation, but this range can't deal with it. The feet won't adjust down, so there's a 1/4 inch gap from my countertop to the appliance, and the anti-tip bracket can't be installed, since it screws to the floor instead of the wall. I feel unsafe.

The website does not list the counter height needed to install this properly. BUT, because of this, they're goign to take it back, no charge and I'm going to order a free-standing unit. I'm still out my install fee, because I didn't think to ask for a refund on that as well. The Sears install tech was very nice, very helpful, and honestly felt terrible he couldn't ifnish the install. I highly recommend sears installation services.

The warming drawer is hard to open, like something found on a range 1/3 the price and there's nothign special about the racks or the finish inside.

So why four stars? Because after I tweeted about my install woes, a friend who has the cooktop version invited me over to try it out. It's amazing!!!! Water for rice boiled before I could get the rice out and measure it. My pan sauce reduced evenly, not hotspots, no chance it would burn because the heat was so responsive. And even though the day was warm, and my friend's house did not have a/c, I didn't get the feeling of standing over a hot stove, because I wasn't! There was no excess heat anywhere.

The Kenmore Elite Induction Stove doesn't hold up. December 19, 2011

I bought this induction stove 2 years ago and although I did love the stove, it broke after 2  years.   I have spent over a month and several service visits and Sears has been unable to repair my stove top.    All they offer is $500 for a new stove after paying over $3000 and buying a service plan for it!   The repair people did not seem to know anything about repairing the stove and actually broke an internal fan inside that was working before the repair.    I have had no success when I complained to Sears Home Services.   Sears does not stand behind it's products!   I am very disappointed that I spent so much on a stove that lasted 2 years!   Go elsewhere for your appliances.

Poor quality and scratches May 01, 2012
    via Sears.com
By DSMB of Holly Springs, NC

I just had this installed several hours ago. The cooktop could not be lowered to be level with countertops, as explained by the installer. It is not certain that the new marble counter tops will accommodate the 1/4 inch difference. The glass cooktop immediately scratched, while carefully using the Kenmore pot provided. My 15yo radiant glass cooktop did not have this many scratches when they hauled it away. I am very concerned how this cooktop will look after years of use. The warming drawer is way too "tinny" and cheap for a $3000 + stove! What a mistake I have made!

The Kenmore Elite Slide In Inductions Range is wonderful! December 20, 2011
    via Sears.com

    Pros:
Cooking on this is magic, looks pretty on the outside

This range is a dream to cook on!  It even came with a Stainless steel skillet which we love, too!  As only one negative that I have experienced....The control panel is hard to clean.  Even with the "lock" feature on, you turn the oven and warming drawer on.

faster then gas November 14, 2011
    via Sears.com
    By RichDesign of Greenville, SC

We have the previous model to this one.

When we re-did our kitchen I was set on getting a nice pro looking gas range.  I have always cooked with gas.  My wife would complain about how hard it was to clean.  In looking at the gas ranges with the one piece heavy duty grate on top, I realized that she was right.  Those things are heavy and you would pretty much have to move it to clean under every day.

I hated the regular glass tops because they are so slow so I started checking into induction, not really knowing much at the time.  I was sold when we found the kenmore.  Still very pricy for us, but just a little more then the gas models we were looking at and a lot less then any other induction at the time.  It looks like there may be a couple more choices now.  I think some of them though only have induction on 1 or 2 burners.  I wouldn't do that unless you just don't have the money to get a model with all 4.

We both have been extreamly pleased and I'll never go back to gas.  This is much faster.  I even have use our old wok on it and it worked great.  For the first time in my life I was able to keep the wok as hot as it needed to be throughout the cooking process.

We still use the old warpped stainless steel pots that belonged to my wifes grandmother, and they work fine.  The only problem I have is that with the glass top, as I'm cooking the pot tends to slide around.  With gas this was not as much of a problem.
