In 2009 I purchased a Kenmore Elite freestanding dual-fuel range. At one time when you bought Kenmore you got quality. They have gone downhill in the past years. First, my kitchen smells like natural gas because the power burner takes 3 or 4 tries to get lighted. Second, the heat from the back burner melted the plastic on the control panel. The technician said it was nothing. I disagree. Third, don't spill anything in the bottom of the oven. I did and the bottom plate over the elements deformed. Fourth, the back left burner is the larger burner other than the power burner. Funny thing, you can't put a large pot or high walled frying pan on the burner because it won't be centered on the pot due to the back panel. This was a stupid design. Sears needs to partner with another manufacturer for their products. Bad SEARS!

This range seems to be extremely well built and is very sturdy. The dual ring burner required some minor calibration when I first had it installed, which was not a big deal. It is wonderful and quite spacious. My large roasting pan for cooking turkey only takes up half of one rack. I love the hidden element on the bottom, since I like to roast veggies on a pizza stone and occasionally one falls of the edge, it's much easier to clean that up now. It preheats and gets up to temperature quickly and the convection works well, keeping the whole oven evenly heated which is especially great for cooking multiple things. The warming drawer is quite handy. I only have 2 complaints: -The porcelain coated racks are heavy and scrape and scratch the porcelain rails in the oven. Porcelain rubbing on porcelain was probably not a great idea. -The cast iron stove grates are nice but hold the pots a bit further away from the flame than I would like; it takes a long time to boil a large pot of water

I love this stove. I love having the gas burners and the electric oven. The oven bakes great and does not heat up the kitchen much at all. I do not see much of a difference though using the convection. My one complaint is the burners won't light sometimes from cleaning around them and they have to be disassembled and cleaned out to work again.

I have had nothing but problems with this range/stove and have had it only 6 months . Repairman has been to my house 6 times for many issues such as 1. motherboard failure 2. gas valve problem /replacement 3.burner ignitor component failure 4.electrical problems Problems with the range as early as 2 months after purchase such as, 1. strong acrid smell when oven ignited 2. Top oven would not ignite properly 3. Top oven would only reach 100 degrees 4. problems with the burners igniting especially the turbo burner and inconsistent flame sometimes a dangerously flashing high flame upon igniting the turbo burner. 5. the ovens would shut off when turning on the stove burners, once stove ignited top /bottom oven in all modes ; convection, bake, clean or broil would just shut down and illuminated control panel along with clock would stop and clock would reset to 12 and flash. 6. could not use the oven with the stove burners

Dual fuel is the way to go if you love to cook and bake. Top burners work great except the largest, which has a slightly sticky ****. Will try to get this tuned when the service person comes out for the yearly check. Only other complaint is that the backsplash part of the range has a piece that sticks out an inch or so. Doesn't seem to serve any real function other than aesthetic, but it limits you to one 12" pan per side. So if you're someone who might have two sauteing projects going at the same time, consider the slide-in version of this range, as it won't have this limitation.

I purchased this stove in mid December 2011. I loved the features offered by this stove and oven. The oven lock feature is great with a 3 year old in the house. With my busy schedule, I did not get to fully explore all of the stove's features. In April 2012, I had to have the ignition module replaced since one burner would not light. When I started to actively use the stove, I noticed that the simmer burner had no flame on low and the split ring turbo burner had an unsafe level of flame. The turbo burner had flames that would extend high above the grate and would roll out from under a large skillet. This is a major safety problem in my opinion. I have had repair out multiple times to solve this problem to no avail On August 1, 2012, Sears replaced the stove. The replacement stove had all of the same problems plus a probe error that disabled the oven. The excess flame condition also existed with this stove. The repair technician disabled the probe so the oven can be used until the replacement parts arrive. The simmer burner was adjusted so it was on when set to low. The center burner now lights (it would not light when the stove was installed by a Sears installation contractor). After the technician removed all of the burners to get to the probe sensor and reinstalled the burners again, the excess flame from the turbo burner seems to be lower at this time. Time will tell if this problem will continue. At this time, parts are on order to replace the probe jack. I am working with Sears to resolve the problems with this warranty replacement stove and I am considering replacement options since I am very concerned about the longgevity of this stove. My previous Kenmore elite gas stove lasted 19 years. While I am glad that I purchased the protection plan on this stove, I am concerned that the stove could still have major problems in the future that would require replacing the stove earlier than expected. While I am happy that Sears is working with me to resolve the issues and concerns with this stove, I still question the split ring turbo burner design and the ultimate safety that the potential of excess flaming could have on a user. I would hate for a user to accidentally catch their clothes on fire when using this burner.

MY First range was a viking loved it but it broke 1 year after 3 times. Got Tired of it and did some research and found out that Electrolux makes the for the Kenmore line. Bought it when it first came out 2 years ago and i have never had an issue. I did still bought the MASTER PROTROTECTION because no matter which brand it is a LIMITED WARRANY IS STILL LIMITED!

Although I haven't cooked on a gas range for some time, and am learning to use a convection oven, I'm very pleased with the performance of this product. Enjoy the fifth burner.

I have only had my dual range for 2 months and so far I can say nothing but great things about it. My husband has wanted a gas stove for years now and we finally got one. We decided to go dual based on we had a electic stove to begin with and didn't want to incurr more electrical wiring expense. After some research we found that the dual was the best of both worlds, gas and electric. We've cooked thanksgiving and Christmas dinner on it and everything was wondferul!!! The only negative I can say is the power cord is very thick so you cannot press the stove butt up to the wall. Not a big deal. I will come back in 5 years to review again to let everyone know how the quality with-stands time.
