Great grill with a few design flaws. August 06, 2010

Everything about the grill is pretty good. Lots of room, nice fridge, etc., but there are some small issues and then there is a major issue.

Major issue: The two electric cords that power the fridge and the lights are seperate and are 6 inches (if not less) long. They are roughly 1 foot apart from one another. So even if you had this grill against a will with a power outlet you wouldn't be able to plug both cords in. To power the lights and the fridge at the same time we basically have to run two extension cords to the grill and then to the power outlet, using both plugs. This didn't make any sense to me. It still doesn't.

Small issues: The fridge door handle should have been mounted vertically, not horizontally. Also, the tank to gas burners action is flaky. Even when slowly opening the valve the burners don't always ignite fully. I have to close and open the valve 2 or 3 times sometimes to get the fire going full force. May be the tank I have creating the issue though.

Overall: Beautiful and insanely massive grill. Me and another guy both worked the grill and cooked for 40 people on it wo/ a hitch. I like, but the amount of $ it costs it should be perfect. Or at least don't skimp on the cords.

    not impressed November 26, 2010

coming from a kenmore 4 burner that i used 2~3 times a week for the past 5 years this was a bit of a dissappointment.

door handle broke in the store as well as after i took delivery on the fridge, and propane holder, ignitor won't work, and far left burner not turning on. assembled by sears. Currently waiting for sears services to fix. also they should have 1 cord or a built in extention, grill has 2 short ( 1 foot) plugs hanging out.

no ignitor hole when ignitor dies / fails

Good grill with some minor tweaking September 23, 2011
    via Community Review

    Pros:
    lots of grilling space
    Cons:
cheap door handle, sup par build quality

This is a good grill for the money (but not perfect). Have been using it for over 6 months now almost every weekend. Everything has come out great....rib eye steaks are the best....sear each side for 2 min on the side burner and then grill for 10 min each side...comes out perfect every time. Have grilled chicken, ribs, bacon wrapped filets and everything I must say comes out great. Would recommend getting a grill basket for veggies. The refrigerator comes in handy but the power cord is on the opposite side of the cord for the grill lights so you need an extra extension cord...strange. Now the tweaks are....yes the handles on the fridge and the storage cabinets are poorly designed plastic too fragile and cannot last more than a day...before they broke off I went to ********** and picked up some (6) round nickel bathroom cabinet knob pulls and replaced the 3 cheap long handles. They look great and are very strong to pull out the heavy propane drawer without any problems (should have been designed better). The other minor tweak is the burners don't always light easily....I found that bending the ignitors slightly pulling away from the burners causes a longer spark which ignites easier....but the best result is turning on all 5 burners first and then ignite simultaneously. Has worked great since. It's not a perfect grill but for the money and the results after the minor tweaking have been happy with it.

This grille has one major flaw! June 06, 2010
    via Sears.com
    By Campy42 of Norton, MA

The one major flaw to this grill is the refrigerator door handle. This piece is far to weak and poorly constructed to handle the torque of LIGHT use, never mind actually opening with actual force. I give the handle 4-5 normal pulls before it breaks. I read the ratings before buying, and used EXTREME caution while operation the first day. It still broke, which is upsetting because the refrigerator was a real selling point to this grill-how did the designers miss it??. Other than that, I love this grill. Lots of room, with tons of grilling options. It does not come with the actual rotissary motor and spindle ( $60-$75 at most stores) but the IR burner is nice to have from the get-go. This grill is a pleasure to cook with.
