    Great Washer love it March 15, 2010

    Great Washer, uses less water and gets clothes clean, have heard horror stories about the 2006/7 model's but all the bugs are worked out and gone so don't compare this with a model from a few years ago they have improved.  I use Tide x2 soap and clothes come out clean and smelling fresh, some people complained of odor, well wonder what soap they use, others complained clothes are too wrinkly well this machine really wrings them out (less drying) saves energy.  Great machine great buy!! Play with the settings and remember this machines is only as smart as its operator.

    STAY AWAY FROM THIS!! November 20, 2009

    We bought this washer in July, 2006 and as I am writting this review, my laundry room floor is soaking wet and my basement ceiling has water dripping out of the tiles along with my basement carpet, which is not quite a year old, being soggy and ruined because of this piece of garbage.  So far, since buying this washer, the repair service has been here SEVEN times.  I am waiting for them now to come in 4 days to fix it yet again, which will be the 8th time they are here.  It is very frustrating since we are having a house full of company arriving Tuesday for the holiday.    We were fortunate that we bought the extended warranty until 2011 (this is something we usually don't do) but since it was sort of "new technology" 3 years ago we did.  It also goes off balance alot and is a problem when washing even twin bed comforters.

    I brought a Calypso from Sears several years ago and kept it under warranty with Sears.  It always needed maintenance.  Finally Sears agreed that it was costing more to repair than replace. Sears gave me credit for a new washer.  The credit was use it all on one washer or lose it.  The Kenmore Elite Oasis was the only washer that used all of the credit.  I had read the reviews and did not really want this washer, but I was not going to lose part of the credit so I agreed to the Oasis.  I absolutely love it.  I've had it for 4 months and I do 10 to 15 loads per week.  I've washed comforters, rugs, bedding, towels and all kinds of clothing from heavily soiled work clothes to delicate hand washables.  My laundry looks better than ever with no problems.  The key is to read the manual.  You must sort your laundry, use the correct cycle and settings, and use HE laundry products.  Make sure you load the washer exactly the way the manual recommends.  Don't worry if the clothes are not always covered with water it will depend where you are in the cleaning cycle. The spin cycle does a great job of removing the water which reduces the drying time.  I couldn't be happier, but as always I will keep it under warranty with Sears.
