Replacement filter cassette for Kenmore® EnviroSense™ air cleaner model 85500. Fully assembled and ready to install.

Replacement cassette contains a washable pre-filter which collects large particles such as pollen, lint, and pet hair, a true HEPA filter which captures 99.99% of particles and impurities as small as 0.3 microns, a nano-silver shield with silver particles one one-billionth of a meter in size which resists bacteria, and a washable carbon filter with activated granular carbon which effectively collects chemical vapors and odors caused by cigarette smoke, organic decay and cooking.Low Monthly Payment.     Kenmore EnviroSense Model 85510 - true HEPA replacement filter December 08, 2010

    We have owned and used this product for one year.  This air filter is perfect for our large master bedroom, both as an effective air filter and odor eliminator and as white noise to assist our sleep.  For continued top notch performance, you should replace the expensive filter cassette at one-year intervals if you use it daily as we do, and you need to vacuum the pre-filter every other month or so to keep the dust buildup down.  You can also take out the activated carbon filter layer and carefully wash it every 3-6 months for top odor performance, but it is still somewhat active even after a year when you replace it.  I just replaced our filter cassette (easy to do) at the one-year mark and the unit performs like new!

    HEPA filters are the most effective way to remove dust, allergens, and very small particles from the air, but they are expensive and must be replaced periodically when they become full of dust.  This is true of all HEPA filters - they are not washable or reusable once they have collected all that dust, etc, from your air.  Thank you, Sears, for making this air filter so effective for our needs!

    Just received an 85510 replacement filter November 19, 2010

    The Hepa filter was white and new, but the carriage looked very used and was very dirty.  I got black hands trying to handle it.  I washed it, but it looked way worse than the one I was replacing so I disassembled and put the Hepa in my old carriage.  Very disappointed given the price (my total bill was $104).  Is there an alternative web site to buy this filter ?

    The quality on this doesn't seem as high as the one that originally came with my unit. The soft seal around the edge is not cut as precisely as the original. The first stage filter is not tight, kind of loose and ripply. For the money I expect each one to be first quality.

    These filters really work great. We replace filter approximately once a year . There are 3 filters in the housing and you can vacuum the first two every month to help the life of the filters. They are on the expensive side but they work great.
