Kenmore  Intuition Canister Vacuum Cleaner - Blue

Purchased this vacuum in 2009 - 4 years later it had an electrical problem and almost started on fire. Brought to Sears to have repaired they wanted $350+ to replace the hose and wand. Almost the price of the vacuum on sale. I would not purchase this vacuum.

We bought the Kenmore brand based on past experience, HUGE mistake. This is an extremely poor design overall. The removable head looses electrical contact very quickly(we've had it less than 90 days!) Pulling it in a straight line is impossible, having to fold the bag in half to install it is a joke at the cost of hepa bags, and the final straw, with the unit plugged in and NOT turned on if you move the hose it trys to turn itself on! This is an obvious electrical hazard. Panasonic makes this for them, they know about the shorting issue, and say it is too much grease in a connection. All it takes is to replace the complete hose as a unit!

Compared to a Miele its extremely noisey and it smells heavily of clorox and rubber tire odor when used. It smells the whole house up and I get headaches from it. I have to open up the house windows to air it out I thought by now the odor would have passed; but, it hasn't. Is this normal for this vaccum or is something wrong with it?

I still have the last Kenmore canister vac that I purchased new 25 years ago & it is still going strong! I saw this vac at my local Sears store and decided to treat myself to a new one. That was a year ago & I still love it as much as the day I brought it home. The feature I am most impressed with is how quiet it is. I have 4 dogs and they don't even budge when I turn it on! The other thing that I like is the fact that it doesn't have that musty "vacuum" sort of odor when it is turned on or running. My likes also include the light, the telescopic handle, the red & green lights that let you know the area you are working on is clean and having all the controls at my fingertips. I believe if this vac is not abused and properly maintained it should last a long time just like my old Kenmore!

-Vacuum ?floats?; impossible to control. Bumps into things/constantly gets caught. -Expensive bags $3.50 each. -Expensive filters; Exhaust filter $20, Chamber filter $10. Daily vacuuming of pet hair gets expensive. -Built in floor nozzle connector broke; floor nozzle would not reattach. Repaired. -Connector that holds wand handle upright broke. Must be propped against wall. Repaired once, broke again. -Power Head stopped working. Sealed inner electrical works completely clogged with pet hair. ?Beater bar? made of plastic -Power Head will not vacuum carpet from every direction. Must vacuum with nap, not against it. It?s impossible to pick up cat hair unless you can vacuum a rug from any direction. - Power head constantly turns itself on/off. My advice - Buy elsewhere.

The extension wand doesn't always stay in place, suddenly goes from high to low when I have to push harder because of the carpet pile. The wheels and the hi/lo wheels leave streaks on the carpet.

Excellent features and suction. Very quiet. Convenient tool storage. Love the way the bare floor brush removes from the power head. Very innovative design. I am extremely pleased with it.

I purchased this vacuum almost 4 months ago. It's a nice a vacuum. I had a dyson that I absolutely hated after my old Kenmore cannister broke down after 24 years (loved it so much). So I assumed I would be getting equivalent to my old Kenmore cannister. Well it does have nice features, but it doesn't have the suction the old one had. But overall it does do a nice a job and there is a light that comes on when it is still sucking dirt and notifies you so you can stay in that area longer. I would never buy anything else but a Kenmore vacuum. I would suggest this cannister to others over anything else out there.

This vacuum is impossibly heavy & awkward to navigate. I get lower backaches every time I use it at a client's house. Certain carpet surfaces make me have to push it which makes the long pipe collapse to a shorter height. I do like Kenmore vac's as a rule but I wouldn't take this one even if it was a gift. The only positives are the easy evacuation of the powerhead to switch to bare floor only.

I purchased this product a couple of months ago, I have always had canister vacuums, this one is not user friendly, it is heavy, akward and has a mind of it's own. I will probably give it to my daughter.
