    A bit more $, but worth it. May 22, 2012

    Pros: Dirt sensing LED Indicators!; Extra-long hose; extra-long power cord; articulated/steerable powerhead; variable power ON/OFF switch mounted at thumb-reach; LARGE cloth bag; convenient, easily accessed storage of tools; solid feel; well-designed. Cons: That silly third wheel positioned in the middle, as do most modern vacuum cleaners - it has its own mind when it comes to steering.

    First of all, this is a GREAT vacuum with great suction and is very user friendly. But here's the problem: They will NOT hold up (EVEN if taken care of). The connections will eventually "short out" either in the handle or the quick release from power nozzle to wand. And this is EVEN if you turn the power OFF to the power nozzle before using the quick release! (which you should always do FYI) If you leave the power nozzle ON & pull out the wand that will shorten the connections life even more quickly! Don't do that! You might get lucky & it will last a couple of more years. I haven't been and I take very good care of my items. People write great reviews when they get it home and test it and think how AWESOME it is, but of COURSE it's going to be awesome at first. Just wait until you use it a while & then watch things start to slowly go wrong. If ONLY they would make a vacuum like this that would LAST.......Only a high end vacuum will & at this price, it's getting almost to high end, but the quality is not there. :(  I think upright vacuums have a little more longevity than canisters simply because of the way they are designed, but I dislike uprights.

    Conclusion: This is a GREAT vacuum but will last two to three years at BEST if you vacuum every other day (4 times per week) like I do.

    Very poorly made--cheap plastic that feels like it will break if you try to open the compartment where the tools are kept. Also, the hose keeps coming off the vacuum when I pull it along to clean the carpet and floors.

    We have had a Progressive Canister vacuum since 2006- loved it. Unfortunately, the beater on the rug attachment must have a loose wire - so we had to replace it. The new one seems to be doing a great job, as did the old one.
