This vacuum is good on both hard and carpeted surfaces. It turns well and is relatively light. It has a dirt sensor for carpets. Not sure how well it works because I can't see how much dirt is actually in my carpet, but if it works, it's a cool feature.

Wanted a lightweight vacuum that could be used on all floor surfaces. I like the power. It is easy to empty canister. Great tools.

This vacuum is by no means "lightweight." PLEASE take note - like I failed to do - of the many posts about this vacuum not having bags available. You have to order after market bags from a third party in Virginia that does not answer the phone and punishes you if you have to return them by making you pay the shipping. The inferior merchandise arrived thrown into an envelope with no packaging and a fan belt flopping around loose inside. Sears does not carry accessories for this vacuum that is actually quite clumsy and awkward to use. It's also noisy. You need a magnifying glass and a flashlight to read the 'settings" for height. Sears should be more committed to their Customers and at least contract with third party vendors that follow the same return policies as Sears does. Sears should absolutely be watching out for their Customers and making sure they are well taken care of expecially when there is absolutely no other coices for buying these bags. It is a direct link on the Sears website! I feel betrayed for having good faith in ordering something like this online because I trusted the Sears name. NO MORE! If you can't carry the accessories and provide a reliable vendor then Sears should discontinue this vacuum and not impose this grief and inconvenience on their Customers.

We already own the Intuition Canister Vac but needed a lighter weight vac to use in some tighter areas of the house which lugging a canister vac to were just a pain to deal with so we decided to get this one.

It is very light weight and very easy to maneuver around. The swivel feature of the head works very well too. It seems to have good suction as well.

I really like that when you lock it into the upright position it shuts off the brush roll automatically and then when lowered it turns back on.

I would say that it does have some flaws which is why I could not give it a 5 star rating...

Why on earth they chose purple as the color is something I can not understand. However unless you are in a extremely well lit room it actually doesn't look that bad. Seems more of a deep purple in my home.

It doesn't do all that good of a job on the very edges of carpet especially on the inner edges of carpeted stairs.

The pressure releasing feature seems to be a bit overly sensitive but that is only of you have it set too low (but that is how we like to use a vac).

I wish it had Hepa bags available for it. It does have a hepa filter on the exhaust but our intuition canister has hepa bags as well. This would be a very good feature for them to add. I noticed that someone was complaining that the bags are not available... maybe their sears was out but my sears had plenty in stock as well as filters and they are available on sears.com as well as generic versions from other stores.

All in all it is a very good vac but I would really only recommend it if you can get it on a really good sale price. We initially paid really close to retail for it which seemed a little steep but fortunately sears has their 14 day price protection policy and one week later I saw it had gone down a lot! Thankfully all it took was one phone call and the difference was refunded! Go sears. I think they are the only store that does this for their customers. So it pays to keep an eye on products you buy after the fact.

I would also highly recommend getting the maintenance agreement. They are well worth they money just on the yearly check up feature and should anything go wrong sears does have you totally covered.
