    We had to replace our water filter for our refigerator so naturally I had to dig through our paperwork to locate the information in doing so and I called our local sears where my call was routed to a parts database warehouse.  The rep told me that my local  sears did not carry the filter and the closest place that did was 50 miles away but she was all too happy to help me buy 2 filters at a discounted rate and for a large shipping and handling cost, so, I immediately call back to make sure that I spoke with my local Sears to confirm this information.  Turns out, my local sears carried it all along so we drove up and got our filter easy as that.  My husband has yet to replace it, but, the concept behind this review is to speak with your local sears agent before placing a parts order over the phone.  Thanks!

    Very unhappy with this JUNK December 26, 2009

    Our refrigerator requires this filter in order for the ice maker to work.  It will actually stop the flow of water to the ice maker when the filter needs to be replaced.  This is extremely inconvenient as it does not give warning, just stops working.  It also does not always last the "recommended 6 months" if we are using the water from the water dispenser.  Also, more than half of the time that we purchase a replacement filter, it will stop working after a few weeks and we have to exchange the filter for a new one.  If I were able to plug this filter to bypass it, I would.  I have been told though that if you have ever started a filter in the refrigerator, you have to continue using it and can not plug it to bypass it.  That means I am stuck dealing with a piece of JUNK or buy another one.

    It's the best thing that ever happened! No more foul smell, especially when I make ice! It was easy to use; my dog will even drink the filtered city water now. It saves money when compared to bottled water. Sears is convient to shop and I have foungd the the employees are very helpful. The young lady gave me instructions on the filter and reminded me to put the change date on the filter. I like it!
