    Great Water, but Professional Installation Recommended March 21, 2010

    The device immediately change the quality of water in the house.  Although we had a minor concern about the size of the tank, it provided an ample for usual household use.  We've never run low on water.  The flow is a bit slow, but no worse than the filtered bar sink water faucet that this replaced.  With fairly heavy usage, we noted from tasting the water that the filters needed a change in 5 months.  The only complaint was with the compression fittings, which leaked a bit upon installation.  A plumber was able to fix the problem, but ... it did ultimately require more than home handyman skills to install.

    Water tastes great, faulty design February 26, 2010

    I replaced a Culligan filtration system with this one, and it is far superior to the Culligan. Filters are REALLY easy to replace, and the water tastes great with one less filter to purchase than there was for the Culligan (no "polishing" filter, which I don' t miss at all).

    My only issue is that the battery compartment is not water-proof. The first time the little light came on and I changed the filters and the battery, there was water in the compartment. I cleaned and dried the compartment thoroughly before putting the new battery in, but about 6 months later I realized that the light had not come on for the next filter change. By then it was 13 months since purchase and out of warranty. I feel like I paid for a feature that would be highly convenient, but was poorly designed. Stick with the one without the light and battery compartment, and this would be a five-star system.

    This product is a blessing; now we can access healthy drinking water easily. No more buying and carrying bottled water. It works better than expected. We highly recommend this product. We are depply thankfule to Sears.

    Faucet leaks and corrodes battery

    Since living in Arizona we have had many RO systems, and never had a problem like this one. There are no concerns with the water filtration, however the faucet has a major defect. Water backs up into the battery compartment and corrodes the battery. We had the faucet replaced under warranty after the first 6 months. The repair man from Sears said it must have been a defective unit. For the next six months we noticed water tricking out of the drain hole which once again corroded the battery unit. Since it was out of warranty they wouldn't do anything for us even though it was an ongoing problem. I talked to the Sears store where we bought it and they contacted the district manager, but he wouldn't do anything other than give us half off on a new unit. I certainly won't buy another one of these.

    Pros:
    Great Tasting Water

    This is a great filter that really  gives quality water. My husband used to work in construction before, and he was able to install it himself, but still was a bit tricky, so if you don't have the background for it, i would definitely recomend you hire someone to do it for you. Other than that, i love it.
