    I have sewn for over 45 years. I have used my Sears ruffler on every sewing machine I have owned with equal success. It is perfect for pleating 5/8" satin ribbon to use as trims on doll clothes, it makes gathering an overfull skirt (for example, gathering 62" into 8") simple and puts every pleat in its place. Creating rufffles for curtains is equally simple. I encourage every sewer to make friends with a ruffler and experiment. The simple directions which are included in the ruffler box show you how to use the ruffler. Experiment with stitch length to add depth to your pleats. I believe this ruffler is indispenible to the home sewer. The ruffler uses a side screw-type attachement to the sewing machine. Individual sewing machine adaptors are usually available from your own sewing machine's distributor. You wiil need to know if your machine is a short or long shank machine to get the correct adaptor, for the ruffler pictured is for a long shank sewing machine. My Bernina 930 (for example) has a short shank. I use an adaptor for my ruffler. (The ruffler sold by Sears is almost always the same ruffler sold by every other sewing machine company but with the proper adaptor and for usually twice the price.) The Sears ruffler is a good purchase.
