Kenmore  3.4 cu. ft. Top-Load Washing Machine - White

I've run this washer a few times and it appears to operate very well. Quieter than my old 70 series kenmore and the spin RPM is higher, so clothes come out dryer. Read with interest some of the comments regarding excessive cycle time, locking lids and flooding. If you're choosing the super cycle, well of course it's going to wash a long time. If you choose the regular setting, it washes about the same length of time as any washer I've used. As far as flooding goes, obviously if the drain hose is blowing out of the drain, you've failed to install the tie strap provided to secure the hose in place. Of course it's going to blow out, as with any moden washer. And regarding the locking lid, all you have to do is hit pause and go ahead and open. If that's too much for someone to handle then there's no solution, ALL modern washers have this safety feature. Great bang for the buck, especially with the discounts Sears offered at the time. We'll see how it does realiabilty-wise.

This is a no-frills washer. Does a good job but does not have a filter in the agitator so the residue winds up on the cloths.

Our mother loves this washer. Only problem she has with it is, " I hate having a washer that is smarter than me." That was the first day or two she had it. It is so quiet you don't even know it's running . She likes the fact that it resets itself if a load is uneven. It's a perfect washer for a senior, disabled or anyone. Never buy anything but Kenmore products.

Today ordered a washer replacing this Kenmore model that was order about 2 years ago which replaced a 10 yr old Kenmore. I wash a minimum of 2 loads per day and have been totally disappointed in the length it takes to wash a load, lack of spinning consistancy, not cleaning well. Absolutely hated the "machine lock", having to add detergent &/or bleach and laundry prior to the first drop of water, it taking 2+ hours to wash one load and the next one was done in 45 minutes. In my opinion this washer did not make my life easier as a full-time caregiver. The last straw with this machine was when it started up by its self when no one was around after the last load had finished 3 hours prior and will not reset. After using Kenmore washers since my mother bought the first automatic in 1960 after she retired her Sears/Kenmore wringer style washer -- wish I still had it as in the long run it was simpler and more efficient to use.

I bought this machine a month ago and it has flooded my floor THREE times with an inch+ of soapy water! Plastic drain hose is not flexible enough & diamiter of hose is too small to handle pressure to stay in wall-drain properly, worked it's way out of wall-drain from water pressure during wash/drain cycle...clearly an issue Kenmore/manufacture can fix with replacing the drain hose. Washer would not shut down, locking lid would not unlock; had to unplug it to stop the pump & running water. I do NOT like the "locking lid" feature, it does a satisfactory job with cleaning my laundry. FYI: We replaced the drain hose; from my old Kenmore (18 faithful yrs of use). Can't say much for my warped floor & tile...just thankful I was home during these disasters!

Why would you lock the lid. Detergent goes in first, then clothes, then the lid locks and finally water. Clothes are not clean and the washer is so slow. No fabric softener dispenser. The second time I used it had to call customer service. The machine would not start because lid lock error. Had to flip circuit breaker to reset machine.

i like this washer. it washes clothes really good. ive never had cleaner clothingt.

I purchased this item because in the past Kenmore items were great. I carried it from north Alabama to Gatlinburg, TN to put in a cabin. The hot water does not work. I can get hot water to the machine, but it will not fill up or run in a hot or even a warm cycle. I went back and spoke with a store rep. He said Sears does not have any service companies in the Gatlinburg area so I had to bring it back in. Now I find out that they do and he probably just did not want to handle the request. Bottom line is that we only wash cloths in cold water.

Washer is very quite but it is unbelieveably slow, 65 minutes to wash a load of t-shirts is not acceptable, its been an hour and a half on a load of towels and Im still waiting on this piece of **** to finish.

I ordered this product on-line and it was available for pick up as scheduled. It was pretty easy to transport and assemble on my own. My mom has found it easy to use since I purchased it for her.
