Looks Great, Cooks Even Better
The unit looks great and performs flawlessly so far. The convection fan is whisper quiet and works great. The middle burner is nice, but the griddle it comes with is very very small, kinda useless. The cooktop gives a professional grade apperance and the controls are very intuitive. Do yourself a favor and run the ovens for about 30 minutes before the first use to burn off a "coating" on the inside of the oven - it smells pretty bad. An internet search revealed this is normal and the smell went away just as my search revealed. I also installed this myself (had to convert it for use with propane gas). The conversion was simple. The hardest part was removing the lower oven door, which the installation instructions stated was necessary. Skip this step, its not easy and isn't necessary for the average arm to get to the back of the oven. I saved $260 installing it myself (Sear's propane conversion is $80 and the regular install in $180). Of course, make sure you're comfortable dealing with gas... We could be more satisfied!

not worth the money

So I have had several problems with this range.  The burners started discoloring two months after I purchasesd it.  I don't cook that often so this was surprising.  Also the stainless steel around the burners is hard to clean.  You cant use anything that will scratch the stainless steel so you have to scrub gently.  Lastly, there is a vent in the oven doors.  If something leaks in there you actually have to take the doors apart to clean the oven door.  I mean actually use a screw driver to take the doors apart.  This is really ridiculous because how are you going to take the doors apart every single time something leaks in there.

Upper oven is worthless

We bought this oven for the small double oven on top because we like to make pizzas. We have made 3 pizzas now and can't bake one where the cheese on top gets cooked before the bottom burns. Tried both rack positions and reducing the temperature. Figured out we had to cook normally then broil the last few minutes to get the cheese cooked. Not what I would expect from such an expensive oven. Repair guy coming out Saturday but I'm not optomistic. Doesn't feel like it 425 degress when set at that. Seems to be a design flaw.

Double oven

I love having the two ovens. I use the smaller one all the time. It heats up faster. I had a small bubble in the paint on the front of the oven. The paint has fallen off of the metal and now it needs to be replaced. Using small pans on top of the metal grates can be difficult. The pan will tip over if not placed just right.

Looks Great still testing

The upper door steamed over when we used the lower oven, but cleared up when we used the upper oven. I tryed to Broil some Rib's in the upper oven and I feel it did not Broil well, not enough heat.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Great Purchase Deal

It is my first KitchenAid appliance and so far I love it! It has a great look, it is easy to program, understand and it adjusts heat fast and easy. Plenty of burners and oven space for a family of four. The black glass top is a bit hard to keep clean, but that's just a minor issue compared with its efficiency.

I would recommend this product to a friend.

Kitchenaid Double Gas Range (Model KGRS505XSS0) - Think Again

Burner failed on arrival, knob failed after 6 months - not covered by warranty (we tried to force the knob and bent the pin). That cost $185. Another knob failed 1 month after warranty ran out - $230 estimated for same repair. "Stainless" steel surface is "stained," scratched, and discolored. I'm waiting for the 3 remaining knobs to fail - at $230 per knob, that's almost $700! If you think buying high-end Sears product gets high-end quality, think again.

Kitchenaid range is not worth the money.

We purchased this range in June 2011. Right away the burners became discolored just from the flame of being on. 6 mo. Later the letters around the controls that tell you if your burners are on H, M, L etc. we're disappearing. And now, exactly one year later, the top oven quits working. Did not take the maintenance agreement. What a crock. Would never purchase a Kitchen Aid item again.

Bitterly disappointed

First of all, we have loved having 2 ovens. I am a busy mother and use them both frequently. Loved this appliance while it worked. However, 1 year later (and 4 days past the warrantee) the top oven will no longer heat up. We have changed out the igniter and gas valve and still no luck. I will never buy from Kitchen Aid again. We are bitterly disappointed. I thought this was the Cadillac of Whirpool.
