Flexzilla ZillaReel offers premium hose and convenient storage.
I picked up the Flexilla 50' ZillaReel on sale from sears.com, and mounted it to the 10' ceiling in my garage. Augmenting the purchase was a 3/8" x 8' ZillaWhip and an additional 100' of 3/8' Flexilla hose. Installing the unit to the ceiling was easy. The reel locks in 18" increments, and provides an audible indicator (clicking sound) when you are in a latch zone. Releasing the tension between latch zones allows the reel to retract fully. Flexilla brand hose is a premium air hose made from an engineered polymer-blend material. The hose is a high-visibility "ZillaGreen" color, remains flexible even at subzero temperatures, and resists kinking. Flexilla air hose costs a little more but, as I always say, "How often do you plan to buy something?" Get the one you really want! On sale, the ZillaReel was only $15 more than the identical reel with standard pvc hose.
My only complaint about this particular reel is the input hose is 3', necessitating a coupling hose as I mounted the reel on my 10' garage ceiling. The input hose is connected internally within the reel, thereby requring dissembly of the reel mechanism should you wish to replace the input hose with one of a specific length. Sometime in the future I will actually do that but, for the time being, I added quick couplers and a 3/8" x 8' ZillaWhip to reach down to the compressor. I am very happy with the ZillaReel and suspect it will provide me with many years of service.

Already getting weak
Got this hose real at a good price. Works OK so far but already seems to be getting weak when it retracts. Cleaned and lubed the hose but not much better. Just had it a month or so.

Better design needed
What would have been so difficult to design this unit so that the bracket could have been removed from the body? A separate bracket with a slide through rod to attach the body would have made mounting a simple, 5 minute task. Instead, with the bracket permanently attached it was a half hour ordeal. Poor design. Let's see how well it holds up now that I finally have it mounted.

Best hose on the market. Period. Lightweight and doesn't kink or get hard in cold weather. Stop looking and buy this hose knowing you made a good choice.

Already getting weak
