    Does a great job, but must be possessed by the Devil to do it May 09, 2011

    Wonderful washer -- gets clothes clean (although no cleaner than my old top-loader) and uses hardly any water or energy. You've got a zillion choices for each load, which is almost a "con" because I've had to go back to the manual to be reminded of which funky cycle is for what.

    The thing is creepy quiet. Several times I've thought it was raining only to realize it was the sound of the washer -- a gently pitter-patter. And, of course, the song at the end of the load is nice. Yeah, it seems to go on forever, but it's cute.

    The only trouble is how it gets things clean. I couldn't figure it out. A top loader you can see -- the agitation and clothes being run through. And in a cheap front-loader you see the water get partway up and it spins the clothes through.

    But this... well, I sat and watched. And I have no idea how it works. It must be some kind of demonic magic. It sprays a little bit of water, then spins the clothes for a coupla seconds. Then it pauses, spins a couple of seconds the other way, sprays a little more, and so on. It spends as much time sitting and thinking as it does tumbling the load. Very strange.

    But at the end, the clothes are clean, even if I can't figure out how. And being a top loader, I can finally get things like curtains, blankets, etc. clean. Well, the wife can.

    One minor downside, aside from the long cycles that others have mentioned: The display doesn't do a good job telling you where in the cycle it is. It looks like it has a dozen green and orange lights, but in reality there are only three -- two green and one orange. And even the manual doesn't say what they are. I think the greens are wash and rinse, but one might be a prewash indicator.

    Still, it does have a countdown timer, so it's not important to know what it's doing. But I can't help feeling that the reason LG doesn't tell you what's going on is that a status of "Channeling powerful unearthly forces" would put some people off.

    clothes not clean August 17, 2011

    I had purchased this washer only to end up very dissapointed.  I have 4 active boys, boys in sports equal lots of stains.  This washer does not use enough water to actually clean the clothes and get the stains out.  (even using a prewash).  My son had cub scout daycamp and had to wear the same yellow shirt each day to camp.  I ended up washing the shirt atleast twice every night and three times one night, just to get it clean.  I am all for conserving water, but I still need my clothes clean.  I am not saving water or energy when I have to keep rewashing clothes.  I exchanged this machine for a top load washer with the option of setting the water level and have been very pleased with the new machine. 

    This is not the machine for someone with active young children.

    I  bought  this washer/dryer  combo  and  I  absoluty love  them  I  stacked  them  so  I  have  not  experienced  any  crazy  spin  cycles  but  my  old  top  loader  did  make  kitchen  and  livingroom  rumble  so  I  do  understand  the  posessed  washer  all  the  things  that  I  have  washed   come  out  fresh  and  clean  and  I  love  the  ending  song  it  makes  I  WOULD  REALLY  RECOMEND  THIS  WASHER  I  was  concerned  with  the  size  3.5  I did  want  bigger  but  sears  had  a  great  Labor day  sale  could  not  pass  it  up  and  I  fit  a  king  size  comforter  in  it  washed  wonderfully  and  plus  my  monthly  water  bill  went  down  by  25  dollars   I  bought  them  9-5-11  : )

    I have had this washer since last febuary, almost a year now. I have 3 kids so i use it alot. It has been excellent! gets our clothes super clean, never had any problems at all. very easy to use. I couldnt have made a bettter choice! I LOVE IT!!!

    I have hed this LG washer & the dryer for going on 3 years now & they are great, only had one problem but it was an easy fix.  I still love walking into the garage with a load of laundry & knowing houw simple it is.

    I've had this product now for two years and it has stood up over the test of time. It cleans the clothes really, really well and is quiet. I love the fact that I don't use as much laundry detergent and that the appliance is an energy and water saver. The only thing about this washer that I can say bad is that you must clean the tub frequently or leave the door open to let it dry so it won't mold. However, this condition exists with every front load washing machine, so I don't really see it as a con.
