    great blu-ray player April 08, 2011

    I am extremely happy with this purchase. It makes the colors and movies scenes come alive. You definately need to have a HD cable to connect it to the TV. It makes a world of difference in the picture quality. I love it also has network capabilities if you are a netflix subscriber.

    NOT good clarity, Skips CDs, power down issues November 17, 2010

    I bought this player and connected to my Onkyo receiver then to LG 1080p TV. Looked very nice at first. Played the one blu-ray disc and the clarity was same a DVD. Then I tried an MP3 CD it worked fine. I turned off the TV , it automatically powered down the Player. tried to power on and it won't power up. finally I have to unplug and plug back in. Additionally I tried to play a music CD , after playing a minute it skips a second or two then continue.
    Also the youtube clarity is unacceptable
    I called tech support , they asked me to do a reset (hold power button for 40 sec). That did not resolve any of the issues. BTW the tech support was NOT really welcoming.

    Addition to this I have an up converting LG DVD player and it had the power down issue and tech support says its designed to work like that with LG TV(power of the player when TV is powered off). So If I want to play a music cd I have to keep the TV on.

    My wife and I purchased the LG bundle with 47" LG High Def TV and this Network compatible Blu-Ray Player. We can't say enough about it. The quality and resolution of the bundle is simply beyond words and it's a great partnership with NetFlix for streaming of movies, tv, comedy specials and more. We are both so pleased with this package that we are considering a smaller size TV bundle for the bedroom. Thumbs up to LG and Sears!!! That's FOUR thumbs up!!!
