    A great heater that really works! October 22, 2009

    We purchased this after considering a woodstove and then a gas fireplace. The cost of purchase and installation of these items was close to $2000 so we put it off. Last year we bought 2 cheap electric heaters and our electrical bill went thru the roof. We really wanted something to heat the main living area of out house which is 800 square feet. So we did alot of research this time around and found the infrared heaters to be different and unique. We purchased the Lifesmart heater from Sears last month since it gets pretty cold in Montana pretty quickly in the year. We were amazed at how easy this heater is to use and how much heat it pumps out! The remote control allows us to adjust the temperture from across the room and the fan is so quiet you do not even know it's working untill you feel the heat. We just received our first bill and it was about 40% less then what we paid last year for the month of September. Today we are buying a second unit in the walnut finish for upstairs. We are looking forward to enjoying this for years to come!

    LIfe Smart Infrared Heater....I would NOT buy again! May 10, 2011

    This heater says it will heat up to 1500 sq ft. It wouldn't even heat my enclosed 200 sq ft den! I tried to keep the room, which is in a well insulated home built in 2003, heated to 59 degrees F. I had to augment the infrared heater with space heaters on cold days...to get the room at a constant temperature of 59 degrees. I went about this very scientifically. First, I tried an inexpensive space heater, which kept the room at 59 degrees. Then, the next month, I hooked up the Life Smart infrared heater. My electric bill doubled. The room was never above 59 degrees and on cold days I had to run a space heater in addition to the Life Smart to keep the room at 59. I was very disappointed. I was told by the store, where I purchased the heater that the company would not allow them to return defective heaters, after 90 days. The heater claims to have a 3-year warranty. I would have to contact the company. They didn't have a phone number for them, but I have been calling the number in the back of the warranty book. There is an automated operator. When I contact the extensions...they all go to voice mail, but one. The gentleman at that extension referred me back to the automated operator and into the never ending voice mail loop. I am frustrated. I paid $220.00 for a heater that doesn't heat and seem to have no recourse.

    I HAVE BEEN WANTING THIS HEATER FOR 2 YEARS. IT WENT ON SALE SEPT 2011. WHEN I GOT IT HOME IT WAS BEAUTIFUL IT MATCHED MY LIVING ROOM. AT NIGHT IT LITE UP THE LIVING ROOM SO PRETTY WITH IT'S BLUE TOP AND RED FRONT. IT DID NOT HEAT UP LIKE I THOUGHT FOR 2 LARGE ROOMS. I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED. DON'T GET ME WRONG IT WAS OK, BUT, I THOUGHT IT WOULD WARM UP 2 ROOMS AND IT DIDN'T. IF IT HADN'T COST $180 I WOULD HAVE KEPT IT.
