Product Description

Two separate ovens. One complete meal. Dual ovens can bake at different temperatures at the same time, making it easy to cook entire meals at once. With two ovens, balancing different cooking times and temperatures is easy, and everything is done at once.

  • Cook more at once - The industry's largest oven capacity available* in an electric range provides 4.2 cu. ft. in the lower oven and 2.5 cu. ft. in the upper oven. You can cook multiple dishes at the same time, and it's perfect for large holiday gatherings and every day in between (*Among leading brands, based on a total capacity of both ovens)
  • Save time preheating the oven - The Power Preheat feature allows you to preheat 40% faster (Upper oven preheat compared to a conventional 5.3 cu. ft. oven)
  • Keep food warm until you are ready to serve - The Precision Warming™ center is a dedicated fifth cooktop element that keeps cooked food warm and frees up other elements for additional meal preparation
  • Better-built components - The elements and ceramic glass cooktop are built to last, and they have a 10-year limited parts warranty (see limited parts warranty for details)
  • Uniform browning and baking - With the EvenAir™ convection system, a fan circulates air in the lower oven, providing a consistent temperature for uniform browning, even baking and faster roasting
  • Powerful performance - This cooktop features a 10 in. 3,200-watt Speed Heat™ element, the most powerful element available (Among leading brands, non-induction elements), plus an 8 in. bridge element, providing the flexibility and power needed for large cooking jobs

Excited to get a double oven! November 15, 2011

I was excited about my new purchase of the double oven.  I have it just in time to test it out properly for Thanksgiving dinner.  I have found that the small oven needs to be set lower or I tend to burn things.  My frozen pizza got burnt and I hate that.  My guess is the elements are much closer to the food, but I do like using this little oven.

I like that the bottom elements are covered.  No messing around with the element when cleaning the bottom.

I am concerned with pulling out the big ham and turkey from the bottom oven.  It is very close to the ground and I'm not as young and spry as I used to be.  It might have been a better design to have the little oven at the bottom as a spare oven and the big main oven where I'm used to having it.

I did see double oven with two of the same sized ovens (both smaller than a standard oven) but I wondered if I'd get my giant turkey and hams in it so I opted for the two seperate sizes.

My advise is to throughly heat both oven before any food gets cooked it them.  There is a smell that needs to burn away when you first get it.

The stove top knobs are a little confusing to use.  Sometimes you turn the right and sometimes you turn them left depending on how you want the elements to work.  The knobs could also use a better directional arrow.  It is a little hard which way it is pointing because the knob is just a little thinner at the pointed end so you have to look close.

One other thing I would add would be lights for each burner when lit.  There is one light that shows the top is on and hot but unless the top is glowing you don't know which burner it is.

Gemini Double Oven Downgraded November 24, 2011

I just moved and had to leave my old Maytag Gemini double oven behind. So, I bought this one and I am less than impressed. My biggest complaint is that the upper oven does not heat up nearly as fast as the old one and the temperature seems to be off as it takes forever to cook with it. Perhaps I am spoiled by the older, "better" unit. I have an oven thermometer, so I will be checking on the actual temperature to see how it stacks up to the oven setting.

You no longer have the ability to control upper and lower lights separately, not a big deal, but a downgrade none the less. Also, Maytag has removed the separate timers for upper and lower ovens. Why?? LG's double oven has this! Now there is only one timer! Oh, and I really love the "stainless steel plastic" look of the of the upper control area. Very cheap stuff Maytag! Is it that hard to make that out of stainless steel?

If I could send this back I would do it! Definitely not the Gemini double oven I had before!

There are some pro's though. The range looks nice. Definitely nicer looking than the LG. The cooktop is awesome and heats up very fast. I dont know what that other reviewer was talking about, but this thing (cooktop) heats up much faster than my old one. I love the cross over feature that allows you to use a griddle and the digital readout is nice too.

I love my new range! The convection is fast and no need to pre-heat. The cooktop is great and cooks well. My old range was so off it took me some time to learn to cook on the new cooktop. But when using anything new you have a learning curve. The only con is that the knobs dont give you a clue of cooking temp. my old range had 1-10 so I had an idea of my cooking temp. all and all if you are thinking about this range I would say get one! I like having the two ovens!
