The larger and heavier blades and handles in this set are designed for wood carving projects requiring a sturdier tool that can remove larger amounts of wood in one stroke. Assembled with the beginning carver in mind, this 6 piece set has very sharp tool steel blades fixed into lacquered, solid wood handles. The blades have been selected to offer the most important styles and sizes for a variety of carving projects. Included are a variety of gouges and chisels. The blades are approximately 2-1/4 inches long and 3/8 to 3/4 inches wide. The handles are approximately 3-1/2 inches long and about 1 inch in diameter. Overall length is approximately 5-3/4 inches long. The set is offered in a heavy-duty, white cardboard box with dividers that makes a nice presentation gift.
