Getting walking belt to stay centered February 25, 2011

I purchased my A2550 Pro treadmill from Sears in May of 2010. When I started using it I would have to stop and adjust the walking belt two or three times in a five mile walk, just to keep it centered. I found that by doing the following it will solve the problem:

1 - Raise the frame to the upright position.

2 - Remove both the right & left frame foot. (Parts No. 57 & 58 on Model drawing)

3 - Take both the right and left adjustment bolt (#15) loose from the Idler Roller. (#56)

4 - Put two 1/4" hex nuts on each bolt and then put the bolt back into the Idler Roller. The two hex nuts should be between the Idler Roller and the frame. Do not tighten the two hex nuts at this time.

5 - Put the frame back down in the walking position. Start treadmill and adjust the walking belt so it is centered

6 - After you have the belt centered raise the frame and tighten the first nut on both bolts so it is tight against the frame. Now tighten the second hex nut on both bolts so it is tight against the first nut. Tighten the two hex nuts together as tight as you can. This will keep the adjustment bolt from coming loose. Put the right and left frame foot back on.

This should take care of the problem. I have walked over 800 miles and have not had to adjust the bolts again.

If your treadmill is not displaying the correct speed, check your information mode by putting your finger on the STOP button and then put the key in. The Units: should show English, not Metric. 4 mph in English will show up as 12.8 if its set on Metric. To change this push the enter button.

Nordic Track will not service your equipment October 07, 2010

My wife and I purchased this treadmill in August and had it delivered and installed. Within two weeks the belt was shifting and slipping,  we had also purchased the extended warranty. When my wife called Nordic Track 3 times about servicing their treadmill each time they said we don't do that and told her to look in the book to fix it herself and made us buy extra lubricate that we didn't need!

nordic track A2550 Treadmill Belt Gets Off Center Often October 13, 2011
    via Sears.com

    Cons:
    Belt alignment problem

After every 12 to 15 uses, the belt getts off center and is a pain to readjust. The directions in the manual do not fix the problem. I had to have a technician out to correct the problem. That was only a couple of months ago. After trying to fix the belt and not getting any results, I'm calling the technician again this week. What a pain. I've had the treadmill for less than a year and have only used it 50 times at the most! I'm VERY DISSAPOINTED IN THIS PRODUCT!

    Don't by a NordicTrack August 09, 2011

    Cons:
Belt kept shifting after adjustments,Belt alignment problem,Standard warranty could be better,Calorie Counter inaccurate,Needs better quality control on wiring

I bought the NordicTrack 7500 and have owned this machine for 2 years and have had nothing but issues.  I had spoken to many serious runners and had been advised against Nordictrack, but was taken in by all the bells and whistles.  The only saving grace is that I had purchased the extended warranty which I have used on 4 occasions.  First problem I had is that the machine would not work at all, the problem was the console needed to be replaced.  Second problem was that the belt continued to slip (which is extremely dangerous while running), the roller bar needed to be replaced.  Third problem was that the console would not show program display or calories and the speed given on the console was not matching the output (I could easily walk at 6mph).  The console needed to be replaced again.  Went to use it this afternoon and the belt is slipping again.  When I had a conversation with the technician from the warranty company he had no problem telling me that Nordictrack keeps him very busy, and they are not very dependable machines.  I know they look sexy with the TV's, fan, ipod doc etc., but don't fall victim.  I'm not sure how Nordictrack got so much positive market awarness, but they are not a good machine period.  Take a look next time you are in a gym or health club you will never see there name on anything.

Fantastic treadmill for the home. June 13, 2011

    Pros:
Solid Machine,Non-jarring inclines and speed changes,Controls are within reach

Excellent product, perfect for the home. The shock-absorption really makes a difference, making it quieter than other treadmills I've had.

So far... not good. Considering returning the product. May 27, 2011
    via Sears.com
By NormaF of Miami Beach, FL
    Pros:
The speakers have plenty of volume

Bought this machine on May 14th. It was easily assembled by a friend, except for teh weight of the treadmill. But overall it'as n easy installation but requires 2 people to do it. and I'm happy I didn't pay the $200 for the "professional" installation.

I'm a walker. 1 H a day @ 3.5 - 4 mph. From day 1 the pulse monitor wasn't working properly. Givin very odd and random reading, or freezing with the same reading for long. Nordicktrack cuatomer service solution was to stop excersising and grab the sensors for a more accurate reading. BS#$%. I was frustrated because I do expect all the features of my treadmill to work properly. But I had to live with that as that problem is not coverred my Nordictrack warranty...

I was happy with the rest of the treadmill. The speakers volume is high enough, the cushion is comfortable. The calorie count is not accurate as there's no option to enter your weight. Also there's no way to just enter the desired workout time for a time countdown... But still stisfied with my purchase.

Today, after only 9 hours of total use (1 H a day) the machine started to make a loud cracking noise, like something is wrong with the belt. I called nordictrack again, they do not schedule a technitian right away, instead they take your number and you have to wait untill a a technitian calls you to schedule an appointment!!! He better calls right away and gets this machine repaired very quicky. But after reading other reviews I'm scheptical and I'm strongly considering returning the treadmill before the 30 day return policy expires...
